Top 10 Actresses: Part 2: 5-1.

Here is the second and finale part of my Top 10 favorite actresses list.

At Number 5: Natalie Portman
Natalie Portman has been one of my favorite actresses for about as long as I can remember. Even though her performance in the Star Wars Prequels could have been better, she is one of those actresses that I just enjoy watching in almost any movie she is in. Also her role as Jane Foster in Thor is another one of my favorite roles that she plays. Léon: The Professional is one her films that I am interested in seeing sometime.
Best Movies: Star Wars Prequel Trilogy, Thor,
Best Roles: Padmé Amidala, Jane Foster,

At Number 4: Felicia Day
Felicia Day is an odd choice for a list like this and if I where choosing favorite celebrities, not just actresses, Felicia would be at the top. Day created, wrote, directed, and starred in my favorite webseries of all-time, The Guild. Also she has worked with Joss Whedon in Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, the only musical that I like. Other than her acting abilities, Felicia runs the YouTube channel, Geek and Sundry, where she makes several nerdy web shows, and Felicia herself is one of the biggest celebrity geeks around.
Best Movies/Webseries: The Guild, Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog,
Best Roles: Codex, Penny,

At Number 3: Summer Glau
How can so much bada**ness be packed into such a small package?! She has played two of the coolest butt kicking heroines in science-fiction, River Tam and the Terminator Cameron! Glau's performance as River in Firefly/Serenity is amazing; she goes from a terrified girl, into a freaking death machine in a matter of seconds. At first you might think that there is no way an actresses like Glau could play a Terminator, but she is just about as awesome as ol' Arnie himself in the role of John Conner's protector.
Best Movies/TV Shows: Serenity, Firefly, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Alphas,
Best Roles: River Tam, Cameron, Skylar Adams,

At Number 2: Scarlett Johansson
Scarlett Johansson is, hands-down, my favorite actress in the business right now. When I first saw her in the role of Black Window in Iron Man 2, I was not sure if she had the acting ability to play the role. Thanks to Joss Whedon's excellent writing and directing in The Avengers, Johansson really blossomed in the role, as well as other roles she has played. Despite the haters, Scarlett Johansson is one of my favorites and I hope to see her in a standalone Black Window film in the future.
Best Movies: The Avengers, The Prestige, Iron Man 2, We Bought a Zoo,
Best Roles: Black Window, Olivia Wenscombe,

At Number 1: Carrie Fisher
Although I have only seen Carrie Fisher in one role, that is enough because she has played the most iconic heroine in the history of cinema, Princess Leia in the Original Star Wars trilogy. Her role changed cinema forever and no one else could have played the part so perfectly with her feisty charm and witty remarks. It will be difficult for the now 56 year old Fisher to capture what made her character so great over 30 years in the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VI, but we can certainly hope that the Force will be with us!
Best Movies: Original Star Wars Trilogy,
Best Roles: Princess Leia,

  2. I once thought Johansson was just a pretty face but she has grown as an actress considerably.

One actress that I would recommend is Mia Wasikowska. She handles accents brilliantly; the California girl in The Kids Are All Right, the swoon-worthy Brit in Jane Eyre had me convinced she was either American or British. Turns out, she's Australian. I think she has a bright future.

    1. That is what I thought of as well until I watched several of better movies.

Ah yes, I seem to forgot Mia Wasikowska since her name is hard to remember. I agree, she was quite good in Jane Eyre, and she was the only slightly positive element of the terrible Alice in Wonderland.

  3. You should see The Burbs -- Carrie Fisher plays Tom Hanks' wife, and it's a pretty quirky and hilarious movie. :D

  5. Scarlett Johansson! I really liked her in We Bought A Zoo and of course she was great in the Avengers; I really like her now because I also wasn't too sure about her and Black Widow after I saw Iron Man 2 but as you know all worries were melted once The Aveners started! :P

Come to think of it, I also have not seen Carrie Fischer in any other roles but she was still really good as Leia! :D :D

  7. I really enjoy Natalie Portmans acting! I saw her in Mr. Magorium's Wonderful Emporium as well as Thor, and loved her. =) I like Scarlet Johansson but I think that she's done better in her other movies than in The Avengers... like the Prestige. I really liked her in that! As for Carrie Fisher, she is amazing. =) No one could capture Leia's character better than her. =D Her spunk is just awesome. I don't recognize the other two actors, but they sound pretty cool. =)

    1. I haven not seen Mr. Magorium's Wonderful Emporium, maybe I should watch it. =) I agree, she was excellent in the Prestige, although she was not in it that much. Fisher was the best, no one else could have played Leia better.

  8. Don't see Carrie Fisher in other things. It will mess with your conception of her as Leia. I know, because it happened to me. Not sure why. Just love her as Leia and be happy :-)

I like ScarJo more and more lately,

Although I CANNOT BELIEVE that no one has mentioned Meryl Streep!! She is my favorite!! I also really, really love Kate Winslet and Judi Dench! They are so incredibly talented, I watch their movies just for them :3

My other favorites that I didn't see mentioned here are Kathy Bates, Sally Field, Bette Davis, Rooney Mara, and Judy Garland.

    1. Thank you. I wanted to include those actresses on my big list, particularly Bacall.

Actually, I have not seen many, or any, of Streep's movies. I like Winslet for the most part, although I disappointed by her role in Titanic. Sally Field is an actresses I should have included on my honorable, but I did think that I included Dench, or at least I thought I did. Thanks for the comment!

  10. Felicia Day.... oh my gosh. EUREKA one of my favorite shows of all time... she was on it for a short while and she seriously rocked my socks off. Like for real.

Summer Glau... I will forever love her because of Firefly, but I have yet to see her in anything that she hasn't done an amazing job.
