The trailer for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is here! The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is the sequel to 2012's popular The Hunger Games, which grossed over 691 million dollars at the Box Office last year. While the first Hunger Games had its moments, the extreme overuse of shaky-cam was also unwatchable and many of the characters were left under-developed. Basically the film appealed to two demographics, 1: Females, 2: Guys who have read the book, and because I try to keep an unbiased view at films, I never read the books, I was in neither category. As much as I wanted to like the first Hunger Games it mostly disappointed. However, from what I know about Catching Fire it could turn out great, I suppose we will just have to wait and see. As for the trailer itself, there is not much to say since it did not show much. What do you think about the new trailer? Please comment below. Honestly, I really liked The Hunger Games. Even though I know it could have been SO much better. The shaky camera did suck though.
ReplyDeleteOMG..... I'm so excited for Catching fire!! Since I've read the books, there are parts in the trailer that I am psyched about, cuz it means they put it in the movie!! Ahhhhhh!!!!
I am a huge Hunger Games fan; I understand why people don't like the shaky camera effect but I think it added to the tone and emotion of the movie. Anyway, Catching Fire was my favorite book out of the trilogy and I was really excited when I saw the trailer. I think it's going to be an awesome movie.
ReplyDeleteHaven't read the books so I didn't really think I'd like the first movie and it was much better than expected.
ReplyDeleteLove Lawerence and the trialer for the sequel looks decent.
I was really excited for the trailer, and it definitely did not disappoint me. I wasn't a huge fan of the first movie...I liked the book better, but this looks really good!
ReplyDeleteThe trailer looks good.
ReplyDeleteI have neither read the books nor seen the first movie. Most probably will be skipping this one too.
B2B.
Ohmygosh, thank you, thank you, thank you for posting the trailer, I was looking for it last night and I couldn't find it!!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to seeing the sequel this November, I'll be taking Kayla to the theater so she can see on the big screen. In a way, I'm glad I haven't read the books because I have no high expectations and the plot isn't 'spoiled'. :D While I appreciate the shakey cam for violent scenes, I agree they used it too much over.

The trailer looks great!! :D I can't wait to see this one. I personally enjoyed the second book the most of the trilogy(followed by the third one), so I definitely think this one will turn out better than the first film. Also, since it has a different director, hopefully they won't use the shaky-cam.
ReplyDeleteI didn't like the books, especially the second and third, so I'm not terribly excited, though the film doesn't look bad. I did like the first one a bit better than the book, but overall I wasn't too impressed. I'll admit that the camera angles really threw me off...
ReplyDeleteBest,
Alexandra~
Finally tracked you down James!! Nice blog. As for the Hunger Games movie? Blurgh - hated it!
ReplyDeleteAlana: From what I know, Catching Fire looks like it will be a much better movie, the looks great!
ReplyDelete@Stillwater: The shaky cam during the dramatic scenes made it feel like the director was drunk or something. But I do think Catching Fire could be good.
@Daniel: Since my best friend is a super fan, I had very high expectations so it actually disappointed me. However, I agree Lawerence was amazing, she is one my favorite current actresses.
@Helen: I agree, the new movie looks cool!
@Buddy2Bogger: You are not missing out on anything particularly great.
@Jamie: Glad I could help you find the trailer!
I will probably just rent it, unless Rebecca wants me to go see it with her. :) I guess the shaky cam does not show as much of the kids' deaths, but I still can't stand it.
@Shena Tokala: Good, hopefully the movie will not disappoint! :D Glad you agree about the shaky-cam. :)
@Alexandra Lanc: Great to see someone else who was not swept up in the hype. I am not sure if they should be considered camera angles, more like a drunk guy fumbling around like a camera.
@Gypsy King: Thank you for checking out my blog! Yeah, the first Hunger Games was not that good, I can completely understand your hate for it.

I saw it a few days ago and it was awesome! I reread the books and watched the movie again. I was screaaaminnngggggggg.
ReplyDeleteHopefully no shaky cameras this time! :) And hopefully the movie is better than the book- not that the book is bad.
