Clone Wars: Revival Review.

The Clone Wars season finally start and it sure started with a bang. Basically "Revival" is part 2 of the last season's finale "Revenge", which is a first for the series. It almost felt as if the episode was 10 minutes with its relentless pacing, which worked very well.
Note: Full spoilers for the episode are ahead.
"Revival" was a non-stop thrill ride, full of intense action and awesome Lightsaber battles. While the episode may have started a little too fast, and a few of the character models and voice acting near the beginning of the episode could have been slightly better, overall the episode was very impressive with its brutality and violence. Savage Opress impaling Adi Gallia was very cool and completely unexpected twist in the episode. The Ligthsaber battle was expertly choreographed and animated, one of the better fights of the series. Possibly the most shocking and violent part of "Revival" is how Savage's arm was sliced off by Obi-Wan. While I did notice that Opress had a robotic arm in the trailer, I did not expect that Obi-Wan would be the one to cut it off. The detail of his arm was amazing, I could even see his bone and flesh of his arm, The Clone Wars team is really pushing the TVPG rating. The music during the battle was particularly epic, one of the few time were the music was noticeably top notch in an episode. Hondo was hilarious and played a key role in the episode. His dialogue with Obi-Wan and his lines in general were great like “Who are these horny headed maniacs!?” The opening reminding the audience how utterly evil and murderous Maul and Opress truly are, with a cool opening scene battling droids. The nice touch of Maul's legs emitting green ooze from the Night Mother shows the Clone Wars team's attention to detail. Although some of the character's mouths did not match the animation perfect in a few scenes, but that is a small detractor. The Clone Wars started the season with one of the season opening episodes of the series, only season 3 was better.

Overall: 8.9/10- What "Revival" slightly lacked in plot, it more than made up for in sheer action and brutality.

JT Valun's Top 25 Lord of the Rings Characters.

This list of Top 25 Lord of the Rings character is by JT at The Window on the South and JT's Tales. Be sure to check out his blogs and follow, especially if you are a Lord of the Rings fan. Also Click Here check out his caption contest, there is about a week left to enter.

The following ranking was determined, in addition to personal preference, by the vividness of the character's existence within the text of The Lord of the Rings. The way that character was portrayed on the screen had little to no effect on their final rank. The questions I used to determine the positions were "Can I 'see' this character clearly in my own mind?" and "Do I like the character" Peter Jackson made several characters (i.e. Arwen and Sauron) more visible than they are in the original text.

At Number 25: Saruman
Saruman is a good character, but I have never been able to independently visualize him when reading, and I simply could not decide who belonged lower than him. So here he is on the bottom.

New Sherlock Series: Elementary.

Tonight is the premiere of the new America Sherlock Holmes TV series, Elementary. While it will be very difficult to top the BBC Sherlock TV series or the Robert Downy Jr. movies, I hope Elementary will be good. Although, I have low expectations for the series, especially since Dr. Watson is being played by Lucy Liu, which is a large change from the original character. I have yet to actually finish a Sherlock Holmes story, but I very much enjoy many of the Holmes' many film and TV adaptations, and I always enjoy a good mystery. Do you plan to watch the series? It premieres tonight on CBS. Also be sure to check out my Top 25 Lord of the Rings character list that I posted today. Also be sure to check out my two earlier posts today, Top 25 Lord of the Rings Characters. and Avengers Have Arrived!

Top 25 Lord of the Rings Characters.

Here is my Top 25 Lord of the Rings character. After reading the Fellowship of the Ring and the Two Towers, my opinion of some characters have changed, therefore my list has changed some of which characters I like more. When I watch the Hobbit later this year, I will make another more in-depth list featuring characters from the Hobbit as well as The Lord of the Rings. Also be sure to check out my other post today The Avengers Have Arrived. about The Avengers DVD.

At Number 25: Grima Wormtongue

At Number 24: Haldir

At Number 23: The Witch King

At Number 22: Éomer

At Number 21: Denethor

At Number 20: Treebeard

At Number 19: Bilbo

At Number 18: Arwen

At Number 17: Saruman

At Number 16: Sauron

At Number 15: Lady Galadriel

At Nunber 14: Faramir

At Number 13: Boromir

At Number 12: Eowyn

At Number 11: Merry

At Number 10: Theoden

At Number 9: Elron

At Number 8: Pippin

At Number 7: Gimli

At Number 6: Leoglas

At Number 5: Frodo
Before reading The Fellowship of the Ring I did not like Frodo as a character as much as I do now. In the book he is more of the main character of the The Fellowship, were in the movie there are multiple main characters.

At Number 4: Gollum/Smeagol
Not only was Gullom a significant leap for a CGI character for its time, Andy Serkis' fantastic multi personality performance made the character very believable.

At Number 3: Aragorn

At Number 2: Gandalf

At Number 1: Sam
