How to Train Your Dragon 2 Trailer Review.

The teaser trailer for How to Train Your Dragon 2 has been released, and while it is only a teaser, I have to say that it makes me kind of excited for the film. Call me crazy, but the first How to Train Your Dragon is one of my favorite animated films and one of the few that managed to have a surprisingly mature story and mix it with a unique fantasy world. As for the teaser itself, there is not much to it other than Hiccup is older, several years older. While that may have surprised some viewers, I knew about that several months back but its seems like a logical move and maybe the film will be a little more mature as well. Also Hiccup's armor is very cool, it looks like something out of Skyrim. Basically, 2014 appears to be a great year for animated films, with this and The Lego Movie, compared to this year where I do not even see one animated movie that captures my attention. What did you think of the teaser? Are you a fan of the previous film? Please comment below.

  2. I loved the first movie, so I'm definitely looking forward to the sequel. I agree, it was a very well done film, and I hope they can do the same with the next one.
And the teaser was great, I also really liked his armor(and his wings) :D

    1. Hopefully it won't turn out like most animated sequels. And yes, the armor is awesome. :D

  5. I am really, really excited about this movie! HTTYD is one of the best animated films ever! The teaser doesn't look that great though, just flying seems a bit dull. :) Hiccup looked pretty cool in armour.

    God Bless,

    1. Glad we agree, the first HTTYD is at least in my Top 5 animated films. Since it is a teaser, I hold my judgment until the a real trailer about the story comes out. :)

  6. Awesome, looks promising! I was really surprised at how good the first one was, so now I really, really hope the sequels will live up to it! Making Hiccup older is a good touch.

    1. I was too, it completely caught me by surprise. I agree, aging the character with the audience should make this one even better.

  7. Hurray! Someone else who is excited for The Lego Movie! (My whole family is going to see it, actually. We're known for going to "kid" movies even though my brothers and I are all in the adult age range.)

Anyways, I watched this trailer the other night. I've liked the first movie since seeing it the first time, over some badly recorded internet thing. We went out and rented it the next night so we could view it better, then bought it a couple nights later. Next to Tintin it is my favourite animated movie.
I was a little worried when I heard they were making a second. Sequels never seem as good as the first, but I've watched a lot of Pixar sequels and was surprised how good they were, so that alone made me excited for this one.

It looks like it is going to be really good. I was surprised at how much older Hiccup looks, but after I got used to it I liked the idea. It will be fun to see him older, to see what has changed. (And once I got used to his armor I even liked that. It was another thing that took me by surprise.)

Now all I have to do is wait for 2014.
