The Eagle Has Landed.
Rebecca at Just me... requested that we review some World Wars II movies so here is the review for The Eagle Has Landed.
If you have seen the movie please give it any score from 1 to 10.
Directed by: John Sturges
Genre: War, Suspense, Spy
Release date: December 1976
Running Time: 145 minutes
MMPA rating: PG
The Good: Very original plot, Good acting,
The Bad: Starts slow,
Plot: Inspired by the rescue of Hitler's ally Benito Mussolini by Otto Skorzeny, a similar idea is considered by Hitler, with the support of Himmler (Donald Pleasence). Admiral Canaris (Anthony Quayle), head of the Abwehr (German military intelligence), is ordered to make a feasibility study of the seemingly impossible task of capturing the British Prime Minister Winston Churchill and bringing him to Germany.
Canaris considers the idea a joke, but realizes that although Hitler will soon forget the matter, Himmler will not. Fearing Himmler may try to discredit him, Canaris orders one of his officers, Oberst Radl (Robert Duvall) to undertake the study, despite feeling that it is a waste of time.
An Unteroffizier on Radl's staff finds that one of their spies, code named Starling, has provided tantalizing intelligence - Winston Churchill is to visit an airfield near the village of Studley Constable in Norfolk, where Joanna Grey (Jean Marsh), a German sleeper agent lives. Radl comes up with a scheme that could work. Himmler summons Radl and unofficially tells him to proceed, without notifying Canaris. Radl then recruits Liam Devlin (Donald Sutherland), a member of the IRA lecturing at a Berlin university, to the mission.
Radl looks for a suitable officer to lead the mission and chances upon the highly decorated and experienced, but conflicted and anti-Nazi, Fallschirmjäger officer Oberst Kurt Steiner (Michael Caine). While returning from the Eastern Front, Steiner intervened when SS soldiers rounded up Jews at a railway station in Poland, and attempted to save the life of a teenage girl who was shot while trying to escape. For this, he was court-martialled, along with a platoon of his men. Rather than face the firing squad, the men were allowed to transfer to a penal unit on the Channel Island of Alderney, where they made high risk attacks with torpedo boats against British channel convoys.
Radl travels to Alderney and, with the help of Devlin, recruits Steiner and his surviving men. The team will parachute into England from a captured C-47 with Allied markings. The commandos outfit themselves as Polish paratroopers, as few of them speak English. The plan is to infiltrate Studley Constable, complete their mission, rendezvous with an E-boat on the nearby coast and escape.
Plot: 8.5/10- The plot is very original but start slowly.
Action: 7.0/10- The Eagle Has Landed had some good action but would have been better if it had a little more.
Acting: Donald Sutherland and Michael Caine gave very good performances.
Special effects: N/A-
Soundtrack: 7.1/10- It had a good soundtrack but not very memorable.
Comedy: 7.8/10- Some very funny Kelly's Heroes like scenes with Larry Hagman.

The Good: A very interesting plot based on a true story, Good action scene at the end, A very realistic take on WWII Eastern Europe.
The Bad: Many of the actors' accents are not consistent,
Plot: The film opens with on-screen text stating: "A true story". It is August 1941 and Nazi forces are sweeping through Eastern Europe, targeting Jewish people. Among the survivors not killed or restricted to ghettoes are the Bielski brothers, who are Jews: Tuvia (Daniel Craig), Zus (Liev Schreiber), Asael (Jamie Bell), and Aron (George MacKay). Their parents are dead, slain by the local police under orders from the occupying Germans. The brothers flee to the Białowieża Forest, vowing to avenge their parents.
They then encounter other Jewish escapees hiding in the forest and the brothers take them under their protection and leadership. Over the next year, they shelter a growing number of refugees, raiding local farms for food and supplies, moving their camp whenever they are discovered by the collaborating police. Tuvia kills the local police chief responsible for his parents' deaths and the brothers stage raids on the Germans and their collaborators; however, Jewish casualties cause Tuvia to reconsider this approach because of the resulting risk to the hiding Jews. A long-time sibling rivalry between the two eldest brothers, Tuvia and Zus, fuels a disagreement between them about their future. As winter approaches, Zus elects to leave his brothers and the camp and join a local company of Soviet partisans, while his older brother Tuvia remains with the camp as their leader. An arrangement is made between the two groups in which the Soviet partisans agree to protect the Jewish camp in exchange for supplies.

The Green Hornet review.
This is the review for The Green Hornet. Because The Green Hornet is a comedy we are going to score it a little differently in the "Comedy" section of the review it is score on how funny the movie is compared to other comedies but in a review for an action movie the "Comedy" section is the amount of comedy in the movie. Here is an example if an action movie get a score of 9.0 in the "Comedy" section and a comedy movie gets an 8.0 it doesn't mean that the action movie is funnier it just means that the action is has some really funny parts in the for an action movie. The overall score for a comedy is relative to other coemdies. Example: A comedy gets a overall score of an 8.4/10 and an non-comedy gets a score of 7.8/10 it doesn't mean the comedy is better when comparing them. If you have any questions about this please post a comment.
If you have seen the movie please give it any score from 1 to 10.

True Grit (2010) review.
True Grit (2010) is a remake of the John Wayne classic True Grit (1969) which is our favorite western of alltime.
If you have seen the movie please give it any score from 1 to 10.
Directed by:Joel and Ethan Coen
Genre: Western, Action Adventure
Release date: December 22, 2010 (2010-12-22)
Running Time: 111 minutes
MMPA rating: PG-13
The Good: Similar to the original in a good way, Best western is a long time, Jeff Bridges was a good choice for Rooster Cogburn,
The Bad: Changed the epic fight scene at the end, Not as good as the originsl but what could.
Plot:
The film is narrated by the adult Mattie Ross (Elizabeth Marvel), who explains that her father was murdered by one of his hired hands, Tom Chaney (Josh Brolin), when she was 14. Chaney made off with her father's horse and his two California gold pieces.
While collecting her father's body, 14-year old Mattie (Hailee Steinfeld) queries the local sheriff about the search for Chaney. After being told that Chaney has fled into the Indian Territory and that the sheriff has no authority to track a fugitive there, she inquires about hiring a Deputy U.S. Marshal. The sheriff gives three recommendations, and Mattie chooses to hire Rooster Cogburn (Jeff Bridges), as he is described as having "true grit." The gruff, one-eyed Cogburn repeatedly rebuffs her attempts to talk with him. She offers him $50, but he doesn't believe she has the money and refuses. She raises the money by aggressively horse-trading with Colonel Stonehill (Dakin Matthews), who did business with her father.
Meanwhile, Texas Ranger LaBoeuf (Matt Damon) arrives on the trail of Chaney. LaBoeuf has been pursuing him for the murder of a state senator in Texas. After meeting Mattie, he proposes that he team up with Cogburn, who knows the Choctaw terrain where Chaney is hiding, while LaBoeuf knows how Chaney is most likely to behave, but Mattie refuses his offer. After finally securing Cogburn's services for $100, Mattie insists on meeting him the following morning to begin the search for Chaney. However, instead of meeting her, Cogburn leaves a train ticket and a note telling Mattie to go home while he apprehends Chaney.
Refused passage on the ferry that conveyed Cogburn and LaBoeuf, Mattie's horse swims her across the river. Cogburn reluctantly allows her to come, to LaBoeuf's displeasure. Watch the movie to see what happens next.
Plot: 9.3/10- Same great plot as the original.
Action: 7.0/10- True Grit had some cool gunfights but it did messed up the epic fight scene at the end.
Acting: 9.2/10- Jeff Bridges, Matt Damon and Elizabeth Marvel were all very good.
Special effects: N/A- Stanard gun and blood effects.
Soundtrack: 7.0/10- Nothing really great but overall a good soundtrack.
Comedy: 6.0/10- True Grit had a few very funny parts in it.
Overall: 8.6/10- True Grit is very true to the original movie which makes this a great movie.

Directed by: Michael Apted
Genre: Adventure, Fantasy
Release date: December 10, 2010 (2010-12-10)

The Good: Good Christian symbolsm, Good special effects,
The Bad: Bad acting, Removed the only good actors from the previous movies, Not as good as the other Narnia movies.
Plot: Three years after the events of the second movie Prince Caspian, Lucy and Edmund Pevensie are staying with their cousin Eustace Scrubb. When water pours from a painting of a ship on the ocean that is hanging in Lucy's bedroom, Lucy, Edmund and Eustace are transported into an ocean in Narnia.
They are rescued by Caspian and Reepicheep, and taken aboard the Dawn Treader, the ship that was featured on the painting. Caspian invites them on a voyage to rescue the seven Lords of Narnia whom his uncle Miraz banished from his kingdom.
They first visit the Lone Islands, where people are sold as slaves. Caspian and Edmund are captured and imprisoned while Lucy and Eustace were sold as slaves. Caspian meets one of the lost lords, who reveals that the slaves who are not sold, are sacrificed to a mysterious green mist. The Dawn Treader crew rescues them, battles the slave traders and reclaims the Lone Islands. The lord, who becomes the new governor, gives Caspian a sword originally given by Aslan from the Golden age.
At another island Lucy is abducted by invisible Dufflepuds who force her to enter the manor of Coriakin, a magician. Lucy finds a book of incantations and recites a visibility spell after discovering different incantations such as beauty and snow. They later meet Coriakin who encourages them to defeat the mist by laying seven swords at Aslan's Table, but warns them that they are all about to be tested. While journeying, Lucy casts the beauty incantation, entering a dream in which she has transformed into Susan. She then finds herself with Edmund and Peter and finds that neither Lucy nor Narnia exist. Aslan reveals himself to Lucy and explains the consequences of self-doubt and that her siblings only know of Narnia because of her.

The Good: Everything, Best cast of all time, Special effects look better than a lot of movies today, Never a dull moment, Best soundtrack of all time, Second best movie of all time, Han Solo is the best movie hero of all time, Darth Vader is the best movie villain of all time, Some very funny scenes, The most revolutionary movie of all time,Near perfection, Lots of other great things,
Plot: The galaxy is in a state of civil war. Spies for the Rebel Alliance have stolen plans to the Galactic Empire's Death Star: a space station capable of annihilating an entire planet. Rebel leader Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) is in possession of the plans, but her ship is captured by Imperial forces under the command of the evil lord Darth Vader (David Prowse). Before she is captured, Leia hides the plans in the memory of a droid called R2-D2 (Kenny Baker), along with a holographic recording. The small droid escapes to the surface of the desert planet Tatooine with fellow droid C-3PO (Anthony Daniels).
The two droids are quickly captured by Jawa traders, who sell the pair to moisture farmer Owen Lars (Phil Brown) and his nephew, Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill). While Luke is cleaning R2-D2, he accidentally triggers part of Leia's holographic message, in which she requests help from Obi-Wan Kenobi. The only "Kenobi" Luke knows of is an old hermit named Ben Kenobi (Alec Guinness) who lives in the nearby hills; Owen, however, dismisses any connection, suggesting that Obi-Wan is dead.
During dinner, R2-D2 escapes to seek Obi-Wan. By the time Luke discovers his escape it is too late for pursuit. The next morning Luke and C-3PO look for R2-D2, and just after finding him they are attacked by sandmen. The attackers are then scared off by Ben Kenobi, who reveals himself to be Obi-Wan. Ben then takes Luke and the droids to his home, where he tells Luke of his days as a Jedi Knight. The Jedi were the guardians of peace and justice in the galaxy before being wiped out by the Empire. Obi-Wan tells Luke of the Force, from which the Jedi draw their power. He goes on to tell Luke of his father, Anakin Skywalker, another Jedi who fought alongside Obi-Wan. Contrary to his uncle's claims, Luke learns that his father was betrayed and killed by Darth Vader, Obi-Wan's former pupil who turned to the "dark side of the Force". Luke is presented with his father's lightsaber, the Jedi's weapon of choice.
Obi-Wan views Leia's complete message. Leia begs Obi-Wan to take R2-D2 and the Death Star plans to her home planet of Alderaan, where her father will be able to retrieve and analyze them. Obi-Wan asks Luke to learn the ways of the Force and join him on the trip. Luke initially refuses, offering Obi-Wan transit to a local space port. When he discovered that his home has been destroyed and his aunt and uncle were killed by Imperial stormtroopers in search of the droids, Luke agrees to join Obi-Wan and travel to Alderaan. The two hire smuggler Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and his Wookiee co-pilot Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew) to transport them on their ship, the Millennium Falcon. Watch the movie to see what happens next.

Plot:
In the Second Age of Middle-earth, the One Ring is forged by the Dark Lord Sauron in order to conquer the lands of Middle-earth. A Last Alliance of Elves and Men is formed to counter Sauron and during a battle on the foot of Mount Doom, Prince Isildur, son of King Elendil, who is slain by Sauron in the battle, picks up his father's broken sword and slashes at Sauron's hand, separating him from the Ring and vanquishing his army. However, due to Sauron's "life force" being bound to the Ring, the Dark Lord is not completely defeated unless the Ring itself is destroyed, but Isildur, corrupted by the Ring's power, refuses to do so. Sometime later, Isildur is ambushed and killed by Orcs, and the Ring is lost in a river. 2500 years later, the Ring is claimed by the creature Gollum, who possesses it for centuries until it is found by Bilbo Baggins, a Hobbit from the Shire.
Sixty years later, following his 111th birthday party, Bilbo leaves the Ring to his nephew and heir, Frodo Baggins, then goes away to live with the elves in Rivendell. Meanwhile, the Wizard Gandalf the Grey rides to Minas Tirith to search for answers regarding Bilbo's magic ring, only to learn that it is, in fact, Sauron's One Ring. Gandalf returns to Bag End and tells Frodo that the ring is in fact Sauron's one Ring, also briefly mentioning that he searched for the creature Gollum but the enemy found him first and tortured him, he eventually let out two words "Shire" and "Baggins". Now realizing that he is in danger if he stays also realizing the ring cannot stay in the shire, Gandalf tells him to leave the Shire immediately with the Ring. Gandalf catches Samwise Gamgee eavesdropping by a window and decides to send him along with Frodo. Gandalf rides to Isengard to meet with Saruman the White, who reveals to Gandalf that the Nazgûl, Sauron's chief servants, have left Minas Morgul to capture the Ring and kill whoever carries it. Gandalf attempts to flee to warn Frodo, but Saruman, who wants the Ring for himself stops him and shows Gandalf he's on Sauron's side. Gandalf and Saruman soon engage in a fight in which Saruman wins and imprisons Gandalf atop his tower Orthanc. Gandalf is then forced to watch as Saruman, following Sauron's orders, commands the Orcs sent by Sauron to construct weapons of war and produce a new breed of Orc fighters called the Uruk-hai.
While travelling to Bree, Frodo and Sam are soon joined by their friends and fellow Hobbits Merry and Pippin. After encountering a Nazgûl on the road, they manage to reach Bree only to discover that Gandalf has not arrived. Instead, Frodo meets a man called "Strider", a friend of Gandalf who agrees to lead them to Rivendell. They continue travelling and spend the night on the hill of the ruined watchtower Weathertop, where they are attacked by the Nazgûl. Strider fights off the monstrous assailants, but Frodo is grievously wounded with a morgul blade which will cause him to turn into a wraith if not attended to with the proper care. While chased by the Nazgûl, Frodo is taken by the elf Arwen to the Elven haven of Rivendell, and healed by her father, Elrond (The second in Command of the Elven Host at the battle of Mount Doom 3,000 years before). Arwen also uses her magic to cut off the pursuing Nazgûl at the Ford of Bruinen, summoning a surge of water that sweeps them away.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest review.
Here is the review of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest requested by JediKnightGrl at A Dreamer's Galaxy
Directed by: Gore Verbinski
Genre: Action Adventure
Release date: July 7, 2006
Running Time: 151mins.
MMPA rating: PG-13
The Good: Lots of swashbuckling action, Hilarious at times, Great soundtrack.
The Bad: Not as good as first one, Johnny Depp's preformance was lacking,
Plot:
The wedding for Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann is disrupted with the arrival of Lord Cutler Beckett of the East India Trading Co. who has warrants to arrest the two and the ex-Commodore James Norrington for helping Captain Jack Sparrow to evade his hanging. Elizabeth is imprisoned while Beckett negotiates with Will to locate Jack and retrieve his compass which has the ability to point in the direction of what a person most desires. At the same time, Jack Sparrow reveals to his crew on the Black Pearl that they are going to find a mysterious key. Jack is approached by a reincarnated Bootstrap Bill Turner, Will's long-deceased father, who reveals he is now part of the crew of The Flying Dutchman captained by Davy Jones, and Jack must pay his debt to him – Jack asking Jones to raise his ship from the depths and make him captain for thirteen years. In exchange, Jack must now serve aboard the Dutchman for 100 years. Bootstrap further tells Jack that Jones' beast, the Kraken, will be sent after him unless he pays his debt. In panic, Jack sails the Black Pearl to the nearest land.
Will searches for Jack, eventually finding the Black Pearl on Pelegosto where a tribe of cannibals worship Jack as a god and plan to eat him. Jack, Will and surviving crew members escape the island, joined by Pintel and Ragetti, former members of the Black Pearl crew who escaped execution. Elizabeth escapes jail with help from her father Weatherby Swann but he is captured while Elizabeth is sent off by Beckett to offer Letters of Marque to Jack in return for the compass. Jack and his crew visit voodoo priestess Tia Dalma, who tells them that the key unlocks the Dead Man's Chest where Davy Jones' cut-out heart is hidden; the key is in possession of Jones. Tia also gives Jack a jar of dirt to protect him from Jones, since Jones is cursed to touch land only once every ten years.
Upon finding a damaged ship, Jack sends Will aboard to "settle" his debt with Jones. Will is captured by the fish-like crewmen of the Flying Dutchman and Davy Jones reunites with Jack, forcing him to gather one-hundred souls in three days for his deal to be called off. Will is drafted onto the Dutchman, where he meets his father, Bootstrap Bill. After tricking Jones into revealing the location of the key, Will manages to steal it from Jones while he is sleeping and escapes the ship with the promise to rescue Bootstrap. Jack and his crew stop in Tortuga, where Elizabeth and a drunken Norrington join them.
