Star Wars The Clone Wars: The Box Review.

Warning: This post contains spoilers for the Clone Wars episode "The Box".

Thoughts: After watching the trailer for this season we were super excited! Bounty Hunters in a battle area to the death. What could possibly go wrong. Well nothing! It was one of the best episodes ever! Not as good as Carnage of Krell but right up there as one of the best. The concept of Bounty Hunters in a battle royale to the death is great and has not been done before in Star Wars. And it also some great fan service with the Selkath Mantu. The Selkath species was originally in Star Wars Knight of the Old Republic video game so having Mantu in the episode was cool. The animation is getting better every episode and "The Box" was no different. Cad Bane's line "If you're going to kill him. Do it like a man." was epic. The action was some of the best we have seen in The Clone Wars. Obi-Wan's skill with a blaster was most impressive as was his cunning. The battle between Morallo Eval and Obi/Rako was also awesome and brutal. In the beginning of the episode when Dooku was talking about a special job for the bounty hunters as we suspected was the plan to capture Chancellor Palpatine, which would take us to the beginning of Episode III. Since the end of The Clone Wars is not anytime soon we assume that Obi-Wan will stop the plan from happening. And Cad Bane shot first.

The Good: Excellent action, Original concept for Star Wars, Many awesome moments,

The Bad:

Plot: 8.9/10- The concept of a battle royale is a very unique idea for Star Wars and worked very well.

Action: 9.8/10- "The Box" was an action packed thrill ride with very good action throughout.

Acting: 9.5/10- The usual soild voice acting.

Art Style: 9.7/10- The animation keeps getting better.

Overall: 9.8/10- Overall we loved the episode it sets up for the next one and was great on its own.

Closing Comments: This is one of our favorite episodes of the season so far and didn't disappoint.

  5. There are two things that tells us that there is no possilbe way this could lead up to episode three... these are that Palpatine was abducted on Coruscant, this episode will take place on Naboo. And the second is, that Grievous kidnapped Palpatine, and we haven't seen any sign of Grievous in this ARC yet, so I don't believe it's even a possibility that it will lead up to Ep. III. Not to mention we are only in the second year of war out of three. Very nice review by the way! I hope we don't get another controversy over who shot first! haha

  7. @Brad: I know. As I said in my review. But it does lay the first steping stone towards a fututre plan. When it does come I hope it is just like the original Clone Wars. With Shaak Ti defending the Palpatine. And thanks. :D

@Kayla: The episode was awesome. I didn't that you whatched the series?
