Year in Anime: Every Series I Have Seen

A little more than a year after starting my expedition into the world of Japanese animation, I have completed 55 entire series, and after one year of watching the wonderfully creative medium of anime, I consider myself an Otaku. Below are all of the different series that I have seen in the order that I completed them, and below that is the list in alphabetical order if you are trying to figure out which ones I have seen. In addition to these series, I have seen just about as many anime films, although that is something for another post. Really, this post does not have much purpose other than listing the series that I have seen for the sake of it, but I wanted to it for fun. Also, a big thanks goes to anime/movie critics Chris Stuckmann, Tristan Gallant (aka GRArkada), the rest of the Podtaku gang, Garnt Maneetapho (aka Gigguk), Holden (aka HoldenReviews), and Jean P from Anime Appraisal for inspiring me to watch, review, and enjoy many anime series and films. I know that none of them will probably read this, but I am big fans of all of people listed here. A big thanks to fellow bloggers, Shena Tokala, Arvin Saints, and Stillwater, for directly recommending some of my favorite series. Also, thanks to everyone who has commented on my anime posts and reviews. They are some of my favorite posts to write and expect to see more in the future. Without further ado, here is the list.

  1. Whoa, Death Note was the first anime you watched? Cool! Death Note is really really really good. :D I got caught up on Tokyo Ghoul and I think it's awesome. But some of the more violent scenes were censored (the colors were switched) so it was hard to see what was going on, which was kind of distracting. I really want to watch a lot of the animes you listed, like Toradora. There's so much to watch! It's kind of overwhelming. O__O

    1. Technically speaking my first was Transformers, lol, but yes, Death Note was my first real anime! :D For most part, I agree, Tokyo Ghoul has been great. I was not a fan of the antagonist, but I am glad he was cut quickly. I also agree about censorship, it is distracting. I guess they can't show that stuff on TV, but the censorship is obvious. Toradora is amazing! It is a lot of fun, plus it has a lot FEELS. :D

  2. You haven't included Dragon Ball Z, now why wouldn't watch that show with all of its 291 episodes. Plus there is a movie out now on select theatres you really hate to miss that screening session. Dragon Ball Z is one of the shows that I grew up with when I'm on the house and it's so much packed of fighting action.

    1. Well, I generally don't watch series over 60 episodes, so I have not gotten around to watching it yet. However, I have heard about the new movie that is out in theaters right now.

  3. That's a pretty long list, meaning you've really invested a lot of time in the medium. Glad you're continuing to enjoy the world of anime! As for me, I don't know. I'm a bit aloof at everything as of the moment. But hopefully I pick up on some of the titles that seem interesting for me.

    1. Yep, watching anime is one of my top pastimes. I recommend that you give Zankyou no Terror a watch. It is not perfect, but it is, by far, my favorite series of the season. It is a serious series, and I believe it has a lot of potential.

  4. Gosh, I sat down twice to comment here and I got interrupted both times! So anyway--THAT'S A LOT OF ANIME! :) I'm glad, though, that you started reviewing anime films and tv shows as they are valid parts of entertainment and should be treated as such--I'm glad that I can now say that after giving it an honest try. :)

  6. Oh. wow, 55? That's a lot! Haha I've been into anime for a little over a year, and I've only seen 15 or so XD I've seen quite a few of the ones that you have... actually, I just started Trigun the other day and am loving it :D

    1. Yep, that is a lot. :D Trigun is so good! Fun fact, the original manga was written by a Christian.
