New Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug Trailer!

The new trailer Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug trailer is here and we finally get to hear Cumberbatch's Smaug! Cumberbatch sounds awesome as Smaug! He may end up playing two of the best villains of the year. My biggest problem with the trailer is that Tauriel is obviously going to be a romantic interest for Legolas, which is an odd move. Plus, there is a lot of Legolas and elves in this trailer, just like the first one. Elves are cool and I am an elf fan, so it is not a big problem for me. Overall, I would say the trailer is cool, action packed, and it makes me excited for the film later this year. Also check out my other post today, the Agents of SHIELD Full Episode 2

  1. Will have to watch it later. Can't wait to hear Smaug! I reckon his voice will be awesome! Don't you mean Tauriel? And I've got to agree, though I haven't seen THIS trailer the other one had a lot of elves in it as well. :)
Which is okay, but not if its centered so much around them.

    God Bless,
    Vellvin.

    2. Smaug's voice does not disappoint! :)

Do you think you could send me the link so that I can share with others unable to watch the show?

  3. I saw the trailer yesterday and I agree, it looks really good! :D Looking forward to the movie(though, I kind of wish Tauriel wasn't there to be a romantic interest- hopefully she'll have a point beyond that).

    1. Yeah, Tauriel and Legolas' romance is kind of unnecessary, but she does look like a cool character otherwise.

  4. Benedict Cumberbach has such a convincing dragon voice!!!!
I'm a little weirded about the romance between Legolas and the elf girl..didn't she fall in love with a human? but maybe it won't be so bad, and I'm sure the rest of the movie will make up for it, like the added romance scenes between Aragorn and Arwen.
The spiders....I had forgotten about them. That's the only part I'm not looking forward too. (I'm arachnophobic.) After the movie someone will have to give me a detailed description of that battle because I won't be looking.
Bard, that is is name isn't it? The cool villager who was almost Ranger-like. I loved him in the book. He looks like he is going to be great! Though he looks a lot like Orlando Bloom....a lot like him. (Well, more like him when he played Will from Pirates.)

Now I really, really can't wait. I'm trying to talk my family into seeing it at the IMax.

    1. Hahaha...I'm trying to talk my family into it too! :D
Benedict Cumberbach is going to do a marvelous job, I just know it. And I'm not sure about Legolas and Tauriel either, but maybe it'll turn out fine...and it won't end up with him getting married or anything, anyway. I like tragic love stories, if this turns out to be one.
Ugh, I have arachnophobia too. Spiders...*shivers* They're scary.
Oh, yes, I can't wait to get introduced to the next set of awesome characters and see how the actors do.
So excited for this movie!! :)

    2. @Jack: Tauriel (elf girl) is actually an original character who was rumored to have a romance with Kili, although I suppose that not happening. True, the Aragorn/Awren romance was done well, hopefully this one will be too.
Yes, Bard the Bowman, and I agree he looks a lot like POTC Bloom, although like brothers.

I actually did convince my family to watch the first Hobbit in IMAX!

    3. Miss Jane Bennet: I actually did get my family to all go to see the Hobbit in IMAX, which was awesome! :D
If it ends up with them getting married or something, the continuity would probably change.
Me too, the movie is going to be great!

  5. Yeah I agree with the whole Legolas/Tauriel thing. I was like ugh.......fine.

I actually just saw the first Hobbit movie last weekend. (I'm a bad fan...) But this one looks better than the first one. And I love Elves and Legolas is probably my favorite character ever so I am excited for that!:)

  6. You know the worst part of the whole legolas/Tauriel thing? We all knew it was coming, even as PJ himself denied it. But it's even worse that there will be a relationship between Tauriel and Kili instead. Otherwise, the whole thing looks much better than AUJ, though I can't hear a word of it.

    1. Haha, you're right, the first trailer heavily hinted at it, but this one confirmed it. PJ is starting to become more secretive. Agreed, this movie looks better than the last.

  9. I'm extremely excited. It's going to be so cool! Though I really can't understand why Jackson added legolas! It just doesn't make sense..... He wasn't even mentioned in the book, let alone in it!

    1. He probably added Legolas because of all the fans so more people would go watch the movie.

    2. And because otherwise us readers would go "where in the world is Legolas, if he isn't here?"
