New Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies Trailer

The new Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies trailer is here, and yeah, it is epic. While the visuals in the trailer are amazing epic and very Lord of the Rings feel, what makes this trailer something special is the song, "Edge of Night." If you remember, that is the song that Pippin sung for Denethor during Faramir's attack, and it is a more than perfect choice for the trailer song. As always, I cannot wait for my next journey into Middle Earth. If you have read the books, please refrain from spoiling anything, and comment below with your thoughts.

  1. I am SO excited for this! The trailer is amazing! And I agree, the song choice was PERFECT!

  2. Loved Desolation of Smaug and the first Hobbit was awesome, albeit a bit long.

What really starts to bother me is the people who think that this film series is substantially lower quality than the Lord of the Rings. It's not lower quality...it's just different. Anyone who has read the books would have known that.

Personally I thought DoS was just as good as any of the Lord of the Rings. Different, yes. But not worse.

More on topic: this trailer is awesome.

    1. I know what you mean. LOTR is a deeper and more focused epic, while the Hobbit is more like a fun blockbuster epic.

  3. I guess someone told Jackson that his formula of actually following the story for LOTR was a failure....Looks like it could be a fun fantasy movie. Just don't slap the title of 'The Hobbit' on it.

  4. Considering I still need to see the movies, I wanted to comment instead on the trailer itself. I really like how it's not your typical "dramatic words, dramatic look at characters, silence, slam-bam-ton-of-action-all-at-once!--attempt at chilling, quiet end." Kudos to whoever put this together for breaking out of the cookie cutter. :)
