Double Post Days, Fight Club, and Voting

Hello everyone. With the lack of movie news or movies to review in general, my recent posts have been somewhat lacking. My Doctor Who reviews have been a major hit, to which I thank everyone for commenting on those, but the rest of my recent posts have not been exactly what I want. Therefore, my plan to, hopefully, post some reviews for movies that more people will be interested in, as well as finally publishing my Blogging Tips post at some point in the near future.

Another aspect that I will be trying is posting two posts on the same day that appeal to different audiences. For example, on Wednesday, I will be reviewing last year's fantasy action film, 47 Ronin, as well as posting the first part of my Fall Anime Impressions, since anime is not popular on the blog, whereas movie reviews can be on occasion. Additionally, on days that I post about anime, if there is something movie related worth posting, like a new trailer or breaking news, I will post it on the same day, so that the majority of readers will have something interesting to them.

To start my review of some classic films, Tuesday I will be reviewing Fight Club, since David Fincher's Gone Girl is currently in theaters. For next Wednesday, which of the follow would you want me to review? Please vote in the comments. Also, on this Thursday, I will be reviewing the year’s best crime thriller, Terror in Resonance.
  • 12 Angry Men
  • Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy
  • The Blacklist
  • Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
  • Exam
  • Lincoln (2012)
  • Metropolis (1928)
Below is the upcoming posting schedule.
Monday: Doctor Who Review
Tuesday: Fight Club Review
Wednesday: 47 Ronin Review / Fall Anime Impression: Part 1
Thursday: Terror in Resonate Review
Friday: Fall Anime Impression: Part 2
Saturday: Star Wars Rebels: Pilot Review (maybe)
Sunday: Korra Review / Movie News

Underrated Music: Ip Man

Underrated Music returns with some epic music from Kenji Kawai. In the majorly under-viewed Asian Cinema epic, Ip Man, Kenji Kawai's score is suitably epic with sweeping tracks like the one below. The score contains a quality that is not found often enough in modern Hollywood cinema, as well as some classical Asian qualities. It reminds me of older orchestral themes from John Williams combined with the brilliant work of Joe Hisaishi and even Fumio Hayasaka.

Below is another excellent track from Ip Man's soundtrack that may sound somewhat familiar, but it is no less powerful.

What do you think of the music? Please comment below and let me know.

Upcoming Awesomeness and Posting Schedule

Over the next several weeks a lot awesome things are happening in the world of movies and fandoms! The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug will be coming out on Friday the 13th (not exactly the best day to release a movie) and the first teaser trailer for Christopher Nolan's upcoming film, Interstellar. Interstellar stars Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway, and it is a science fiction film about wormholes and space traveler. On the television front, Agents of SHIELD will return December 10th with a new episode after a two week break, and I have almost caught up to The Walking Dead season four. While I have not yet caught up to the midseason finale premiering tonight, I have finished the first half of season four within the next two weeks. Thus far, I am loving the Walking Dead and cannot get enough of it! Next I also plan to watch Catching Fire, however I am not sure when I will be watching it but the review will either be up later this week or the next. As for the upcoming posts this week, they will feature Jordan's monthly Coming Soon: December, my The Day of the Doctor review, a review for one of my favorite series, Code Geass, and my review for the recent Agents of SHIELD episode. Since I will be studying for finals in the next two weeks, sorry if I am late in replying to comments and e-mail.
Monday: Coming Soon: December
Tuesday: Agents of SHIELD: Repairs Review
Wednesday: Doctor Who: The Day of the Doctor Review
Thursday: Code Geass Review
Friday: Catching Fire Review (maybe)

Tuesday: X-Men: Days of Future Past Trailer
Wednesday: Captain America: Winter Soldier Trailer Review (and Agents of SHIELD Full Episode)
Thursday: Walking Dead: "Days Gone Bye" Review

Underrated Soundtrack and Posting Schedule.

It is time for another entry in my Underrated Soundtrack and Posting Schedule series! Today's featured soundtrack is Assassin's Creed 3. While the other Assassin's Creed game had great soundtracks, AC3's Revolutionary War setting influenced the more classical tone of the score. Below is the upcoming posting schedule, which is subject to change.

Monday: Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog Review.
Tuesday: Agents of SHIELD Post/Marvel Movie News
Wednesday: Brave Review
Thursday: Agents of SHIELD Review
Friday: Firefly Post (which I have been continually forgetting to post)
Saturday: Movie News

The main theme for the game is brilliant. This is the type of music that makes you want run through the forest or over rooftops.

The classical Irish rhythm just makes you want to start a fight or something. The fast paced use of the violin amazing.

Here is Lindsey Striling's rendition of the AC3's main theme.

You can listen to the entire score for the game here.

Which was your favorite track? Did you like the music? Please comment below.

Underrated Soundtrack and Posting Schedule.

Because my posting schedule posts have become rather dull in comparison to my other ones, I have decided to change things up by adding some of my favorite underrated soundtracks. For those that do not know, I am not a fan of most modern or pop music and the like. My favorite music is often film, TV, and video game soundtracks and I am not talking about songs in musicals, but real orchestra or instrumental music. While I have nothing against modern music and other songs, I do not listen to songs all that much, with the exception of a few TV theme song. For this post series, I will usually be highlighting the music that I am listening to most that week, which usually features more obscure tracks. This week I will be highlighting a couple of tracks from one of my new favorite television series, Code Geass. On a side note, I have reviews written for both season one and two of the series. Please comment below with what you think of this new soundtrack idea. Also here is the schedule below.
Monday: Star Wars Origin Films
Tuesday: Top 10 Actresses: Part 2: 5-1
Wednesday: Jack the Giant Slayer Review
Thursday: The Girl Who Leapt Through Time Review
Friday: Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog Review
Saturday: Movie News

For a science fiction show, Code Geass' score is incredibly unique. Honestly, it is difficult for me to even categorize the soundtrack into any specific genre of music, maybe Spanish inspired, but I do not know. Despite this, I cannot stop listening to this "Zero" track! The unique combination of instruments work for me for some reason, I love it. Every time the tracks starts in the series you want that Zero is about come up with some clever plan of escape; it fits those scenes so perfectly. Below is an extended version of the song.

"Nightmare" is somewhat similar to "Zero," however it is used in a different context. This track is often used during the battle to great effect. Although it might sound odd for an action theme, every time the track starts up it gets me seriously pumped for some epic mech battles. Below is an extended version.

Here is the entire soundtrack to Code Geass, enjoy.

What did you think of the music? Is this a worth while idea for future posts? Please comment below.
