Lex Luthor and Alfred Cast in Batman vs. Superman

Superman's arch nemesis Lex Luthor has been officially cast, and it is Jesse Eisenberg that will be playing the iconic villain. It is official, DC wants of the movie to fail miserably. Okay, maybe this is not a terrible choice, but when compared to someone like Bryan Cranston, Eisenberg might not be the best idea. Depending on how the movie wants to take the character, Eisenberg could actually be a good choice that will bring something new and original to the role, but will he even be bald? Part of wants to say this is not a terrible choice, but the half wants to say, "Go home DC, you're drunk." Even though last year's Now You See Me was not a particularly great movie, Eisenberg had a lot of charisma and likability in the role. On other casting news, Jeremy Irons has been officially cast as Alfred Pennyworth, Batman's iconic butler. At least Irons is known for being a decent actor, so I cannot say that he is a terrible choice by any means. However, my interest is this Batman vs. Superman movie is beginning to wane. None of their creative choices are impressive and the movie is likely to end up overloaded with characters and special effects that it will be an epic fail. Maybe, there is a chance that the movie will actually turn really well, but at the same time, there is so much working against it right now. What do you think of the casting choices? Batman vs. Superman Release Pushed 10 Months

Reports have confirmed that the upcoming Batman vs. Superman's release date has been pushed 10 months to May 6, 2016! Wow, that is shocking news about the Man of Steel of sequel. DC needs to get their stuff together, and maybe later release date will give them enough time to make a half decent movie. Also, the movie does not stand a chance against Avengers: Age of Ultron, which is another good reason the movie is delayed. During this delay, the first step is to fire Zack Sndyer and make Ben Affleck the director so that the characters will be more than cardboard cuts outs. After that, fire David S. Goyer and hire someone that knows how to write a script. Despite helping Nolan with The Dark Knight trilogy, he has written some terrible movie scripts like Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, Blade: Trinity, and Jumper. However, the chance of that happening is slim because I believe he is also a producer. At this rate, maybe we will get a full fledged Justice League movie before the end of the century, although I wouldn't hold my breath. Despite my negative criticism, maybe this extra time will actually help the crew make a good movie. Well, 2015 is not quite as packed as everyone had anticipated, although we will still be getting the two most important movies of 2015, Avengers: Age of Ultron and Star Wars: Episode VII. What do you think of the date change? Please comment below and let me know.

New Batman is Ben Affleck?

Ben Affleck is officially cast as Batman in the upcoming sequel to Man of Steel, presumably named "Batman Vs. Superman." Well, this is surprising news, maybe he will end up directing Justice League movie after all, but more on that later. While many Nolanites and Batman fans are outraged, I am not entirely sure what to think. My reaction was almost literally what Captain Reynolds thought when he saw River in the first episode (video below). From what everyone has said, Ben Affleck has become a good actor and an excellent director since the disappointing Daredevil film. Yes, Ben Affleck has already played a comic book character, a Marvel one to be specific, and what I find funny is how Daredevil is the closest thing to Batman in the Marvel universe, except Daredevil is a much darker character in the comics and one of the best. About the Daredevil film, it was not very good; it basically got just about everything wrong with the character, however the movie itself is arguably average, and the director's cut is said to be a lot better. Also Disney-Marvel actually owns the rights to Daredevil now after Fox lost them. Back to Affleck as Batman, I am mostly indifferent about the choice. I have yet to see any of the movies he has directed, although I plan to watch some of them at some point. It was rumored a while back that Affleck might direct the Justice League movie, and considering that he often acts in the films that he directs that is not an entirely outlandish idea. While Zack Sndyer is the most likely candidate at this point, Affleck might be a better pick considering he directed the Oscar winning Argo, although his action direction is still in question. So, what do you think of this casting choice? Please comment below.
