Agent Carter TV Series and Agents of SHIELD.

Breaking Marvel news, an Agent Peggy Carter TV series is rumored to be in development. The current rumor is that Hayley Atwell might be returning to reprising her role for a television series that will obviously air on ABC. The recent positive reaction to the Agent Carter Marvel One-Shot short film, which is included on the Iron Man 3 Blu-Ray, is said to be the basis for the television show similar to how Item 47 served as the pilot for Agents of SHEILD in a way. Since Carter works for the an early incarnation of SHIELD, the series could parallel the upcoming Agents of SHIELD TV series and possibly feature connected storylines, although that is just my theory. Hopefully Dominic Cooper would reprise his role as Howard Stark as well. Because a feature film staring a female is somewhat of a risk, launching Carter in a TV series makes more sense, since female leads on TV are not uncommon. Just the thought of a science fiction-ish World War II/Cold War spy series is just too awesome to not hope for. Taking the less-super characters of the Marvel universe and sending them into the realm of television is a brilliant idea by Marvel and Disney, providing the quality remains as stellar as it always has been. Below is a video covering the story.

Joss Whedon's and Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series will be premiering this Tuesday at 8:00pm (check local listings). Do you plan to watch Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.? I plan to review the first episode hopefully on the following Thursday or Wednesday. Since the series airs on ABC, anyone with a TV and a antenna in the US should be able to watch. If you are not able to watch the series for what ever reason, I will try and find a way for you to view the series online and post the link here tomorrow or the next day. Hopefully, ABC will feature full episodes on their website a few days after the original air date as they do for most other shows.

Agents of SHIELD and Agent Carter One-Shot Positive Reception.

The pilot episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the new Agent Carter Marvel One-Shot were revealed at the San Diego Comic-Con to a positive reception! While most of us will have to wait until September 24th for the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. pilot, the reviews from San Diego Comic-Con are a very positive sign. Most are saying that the humor is great and the characters mesh well in typical Whedon fashion. Since watching Firefly and seeing how amazing Whedon can be on television, I am not more excited for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. It might be my most anticipated piece of media of the entire year, even more so than the Hobbit and Thor: The Dark World! The time slot is odd because it will be coming on against the most viewed television show, NCIS, and while I will most certainly be watching, why would Disney and ABC make such an odd move?

Now for Marvel's new One-Shot: Agent Carter. As with Marvel's other One-Shots, Agent Carter will be released on the Iron Man 3 Blu-Ray, which I will be pre-ordering. The short had a special screening at Comic-Con and was very well received with many stating that it could pave the way for some more super-heroines to make their way to the big screen and that it is the best Shot-One yet. It was also suggested that the Marvel One-Shot should be shown in front of the Marvel films similar to how the "Paper Man" short was shown before Disney's Wreck-It-Ralph and I am all for the idea. My idea is that Marvel should use these One-Shots to introduce new characters to audiences, like the short previews that can be found in older comic books.

Here is a new clip from the new Peggy Carter One-Shot and it reminds me a lot of Black Window. I cannot wait to see it when the Iron Man 3 Blu-Ray comes out.

Below is a video with a few details about the One-Shot.

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Trailer.

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. teaser trailer has been released! Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is a TV series following a group of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents and Marvel's first live action TV series since the short lived "Blade". This trailer makes be incredibly excited! Of the things coming out this year this series is among the top because it is a full TV series by the great Joss Whedon (aka King of the Nerds), and following the advents of The Avengers. The official release date has not been set but I assume it will be released around November with Thor: The Dark World. Although not much was shown in the trailer, it should be amazing and maybe even hint at some upcoming Marvel movies. There is a guy jumping out of a tall building in the trailer, I believe he could be popular comic book hero Luke Cage, which would mean "Heroes for Hire" and the Iron Fist could be in the series as well. Also a quick update, tomorrow will most likely be my Iron Man 3 and Wednesday the Wreck-It Ralph review. Below are some pictures that were released by ABC. What are your thoughts on the new trailer? Please comment below and check back tomorrow for my Iron Man 3 review.
