We watched King Arthur for the first time yesterday and liked a lot so we decided to review it.

JT/King Valun at The Window on the South requested that we review a "historical fiction" movie so here is the review for King Arthur (2004).

If you have seen the movie please give it any score from 1 to 10.

Disclaimer: I have not read the entire book but I have read an excerpt for school a while back and I have seen the other King Arthur but I don't think I liked it that munch.

Directed by: Antoine Fuqua
Genre: Action Adventure
Release Date: July 7, 2004 (2004-07-07)
Running Time: 126 min
MMPA rating: PG-13

The Good: Epic action scenes, Great retelling of a classic story that removes the magic and makes a more realistic story, Keira Knightley's performance stood out as the best,

The Bad: Some of the action was over stylized and looked ridiculous but there were only a few scenes like that.

Plot: Arthur, also known as Artorius Castus (Clive Owen), is portrayed as a Roman cavalry officer, the son of a Roman father and a Celtic mother, who commands a unit of Sarmatian auxiliary cavalry in Britain at the close of the Roman occupation in 467 A.D. He and his men guard Hadrian's Wall against the 'Woads', a group of native Britons who are rebels against Roman Rule, led by the mysterious Merlin (Stephen Dillane). He is not the first Arthur — for generations, his ancestors have manned the Wall, leading Sarmatian auxiliaries.

As the film starts, Arthur and his remaining knights Lancelot (Ioan Gruffudd), Bors (Ray Winstone), Tristan (Mads Mikkelsen), Gawain (Joel Edgerton), Galahad (Hugh Dancy) and Dagonet (Ray Stevenson) are expecting discharge from the service of the Empire after faithfully serving for 15 years (Lancelot's voiceover is heard at the beginning and end of the film, and his entry into service as a youth in 452 AD is depicted at the beginning). They fight off an attack by the Woads on the Roman escort bringing their discharges.

However, on the night they ought to receive their freedom, they are dispatched on a final and possibly suicidal mission by Bishop Germanus (Ivano Marescotti) in the freezing winter to rescue the important Roman family of Marius Honorius (Ken Stott) from impending capture by the invading Saxons, led by their chief Cerdic (Stellan Skarsgård) and his son Cynric (Til Schweiger). Marius' son, Alecto, is the Pope's favorite godson and may be "destined to be Pope one day", according to the Bishop. The knights are charged with this rescue because Rome is withdrawing from Britain, now considered an indefensible outpost. What the movie to see what happens next.

Plot: 7.3/10- The plot is a great retelling of the old King Arthur's story which removes the magic and I like that.

Action: 8.0/10- The action scenes were good and large scale but a few of the action scenes was overly stylized and looked ridiculous.

Acting: 7.5/10- Overall the acting was very good but Keira Knightley's performance stood out as the best.

Special effects: N/A

Soundtrack: 6.8/10- The soundtrack wasn't bad but not very memorable.

Comedy: N/A

Overall: 7.7/10- Overall King Arthur was very good action adventure movie that delivered enough action and story to make it entertaining.

Closing comments: If you liked the original King Arthur story or if you want a good sword fighting action movie you should check out King Arthur.

X-Men: First Class Review.

X-Men: First Class is a reboot of the franchise that takes place in the 60s.

Directed by: Matthew Vaughn
Genre: Action, Comic Book, Sci-Fi
Release Date: June 3, 2011 (2011-06-03)
Running Time: 132 minutes
MMPA rating: PG-13

The Good: Best of the X-Men movies, The action scene at the end is one of the best I have ever seen, Amazing special effects, Fourth best comic movie ever, A lot better than The Dark Knight, Excellent acting by the entire cast, The Azazel(the red guy that looks like Nightcrawler) fight scenes are like the opening Nightcrawler scene of X-Men 2 but longer and better, The 1960s setting of the movie is perfect for it, Magneto is one of the best characters in any movie, One of the best soundtracks ever, The Training Montage was great,

The Bad:

Plot: At a German concentration camp in occupied Poland in 1944, scientist Dr. Schmidt observes young Erik Lensherr bend a metal gate with his mind when the child is separated from his parents.
At a mansion in Westchester County, New York, young telepath Charles Xavier meets homeless young shape-shifter Raven. Overjoyed to meet someone else "different" like him, he invites her to live with his family.
In Schmidt's office, Schmidt orders Lensherr to similarly move a Nazi coin on a desk, and kills his mother when the child cannot. In his grief and anger, Lensherr's magnetic power manifests, killing two guards and destroying the room, to Schmidt's delight.
In 1962 (18 years later), an adult Lensherr is tracking down Schmidt to take revenge. In England, Oxford University graduate Xavier, now living alongside "foster sister" Raven, is publishing his thesis on mutation. In Las Vegas, CIA agent Moira MacTaggert follows U.S. Army Colonel Hendry into the Hellfire Club, where she sees Sebastian Shaw, Emma Frost, and Azazel. After Shaw threatens Hendry, Azazel disappears with the officer. Moments later, Hendry is in the War Room, advocating that the US install nuclear missiles in Turkey. Shaw later kills Hendry, revealing himself as Schmidt and demonstrating the energy-absorbing mutant power that has prevented his aging.
MacTaggert, seeking Xavier's advice on mutation, convinces him and Raven to join her at the CIA, where they convince Director McCone that mutants exist and Shaw is a threat. The unnamed "Man in Black Suit", another CIA executive, sponsors the mutants and invites them to the CIA's secret "Division X" facility. Xavier locates Shaw, arriving in time to stop Lensherr, who had attacked Shaw, from drowning as Shaw escapes. Xavier brings Lensherr to Division X where they meet young scientist Hank McCoy, a prehensile-footed mutant whom Xavier inadvertently outs as a mutant. McCoy, developing a bond with Raven, promises her he will find a way to normalize their appearance. Xavier uses a mutant-locating device, Cerebro, to find and recruit mutants for training to stop Shaw. He and Lensherr find stripper Angel Salvadore; taxi driver Armando Muñoz, who takes the code name Darwin; Army prisoner Alex Summers, who calls himself Havok,  Raven takes the name Mystique, and Sean Cassidy, who dubs himself Banshee. They try to recruit Wolverine, but he declines. Watch the movie to see what happens next.

Plot: 9.8/10- X-Men: First Class's plot is original and has a new take for a Comic Book movie that is  unique and interesting.

Action: 9.9/10- The action scenes in X-Men: First Class were excellent and possibly the best of any comic book movie including Nightcrawler like fight with the character Azazel and an epic fight scene at the end which lasted around 20 minutes,

Acting: 9.9/10- Michael Fassbender was the stand out best but James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Caleb Landry Jones and the entire cast was excellent.

Special effects: 9.7/10- The special effects were amazing.

Soundtrack: 10/10- X-Men: First Class's soundtrack was one of the best I have ever heard truly excellent.

Comedy: 7.8/10- X-Men: First Class is not a comedy but there were a few humorous monments.

Overall: 9.6/10- Overall X-Men: First Class is a top notch movie improves over the other X-Men movies and makes for a great film.

Closing comments: X-Men: First Class is a action packed comic book movie with an intellgent and thoughtful plot.

Note: While not excessive X-Men: First Class contained more mature content than previous X-Men movies were I watched the first X-Men theaters in 2000 (it was rated PG-13 for violence and mild profanity) when I was around 8 or 9 and my brother was 5 or 6. I would not recommend X-Men: First Class for anyone under the age of 13.

If you have seen the movie please give it any score from 1 to 10.

Disclaimer: Before we watched Thor he was not our number 1 favorite comic book character and this is not a "fan boy" rant. This one of our most critical review thus far.

We watch Thor on Blu-Ray yesterday and of the movies we have seen on Blu-Ray it looked the best by far.

Thoughts: We did not have to high of expectations for Thor we exspected it to be some were in between the Spider-Man and X-Men movies but we were blow away by how good it was. After we watched it we were overwhelmed that it turned out to be the best or second best comic book movie of all time and one of the best movies of all time and the best fantasy movie other than The Lord of the Rings (Thor was so munch better than Narnia). We have talked to some people we know that have seen the movie. One ,who has seen all of the comic book movie I have but is not a big fan of them, though that Thor was the best comic book movies ever and some one else that we talked to about it ,who has never seen a comic book movie before this but is a fan of Lord of the Rings and Star Wars, loved it and still thinks it is the best comic book after she has seen other comic book movies. We were also surprised by how humorous the movie was especially when Thor when has banished to Earth.

In 965 AD, Odin (Anthony Hopkins), king of Asgard, wages war against the Frost Giants of Jotunheim and their leader Laufey (Colm Feore), to prevent them from conquering the nine realms, starting with Earth. The Asgardian warriors defeat the Frost Giants and seize the source of their power, the Casket of Ancient Winters.

Against Odin's order, Thor travels to Jotunheim to confront Laufey, accompanied by his brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston), childhood friend Sif (Jaimie Alexander) and the Warriors Three; Volstagg (Ray Stevenson), Fandral (Joshua Dallas) and Hogun (Tadanobu Asano). A battle ensues until Odin intervenes to save the Asgardians, destroying the fragile truce between the two races. For Thor's arrogance, Odin strips his son of his godly power and exiles him to Earth as a mortal, accompanied by his hammer Mjolnir (the source of his power) now protected by an enchantment to allow only the worthy to wield it.
Thor lands in New Mexico, where astrophysicist Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), her assistant Darcy Lewis (Kat Dennings) and mentor Dr. Erik Selvig (Stellan Skarsgård), find him. The local populace finds Mjolnir, which S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) soon commandeers before forcibly acquiring Jane's data about the wormhole that delivered Thor to Earth. Thor, having discovered Mjolnir's nearby location, seeks to retrieve it from the facility that S.H.I.E.L.D. quickly constructed. Watch the movie to see what happens next.

Plot: 10/10- The plot is very compelling with phenomenal acting that brings the movie to life, Thor's plot is one of the best and most original plots for any comic book movie and the second best for a fantasy movie behind the Lord of the Rings movies.

Action: 9.8/10- There are three major action scenes that were spectacular and perfectly executed and long.

Acting: 10/10- Anthony Hopkins(Odin), Chris Hemsworth(Thor), and Tom Hiddleston(Loki) genuinely acted like they were a family, Natalie Portman's performance was great and so was the cast members, Chris Hemsworth as Thor owned the character and also looked the part.

Daredevil Review.

If you have seen the movie please give it any score from 1 to 10.

Thoughts: We watched Daredevil when it back in 2003 and we hated it so we decided to watch it again and we liked it. Daredevil is like Marvel's Batman but darker, has some powers, and doesn't have a problem killing people that deserve it.

Directed by: Mark Steven Johnson
Genre: Action, Comic Book,
Release Date: February 14, 2003 (2003-02-14)
Running Time: 103 minutes
MMPA rating: PG-13

The Good: Ben Affleck was good as Daredevill and play a very convincing blind man,

The Bad: Casting for Bullseye (Colin Farrell) and Wilson Fisk (Michael Clarke Duncan) were bad choices for their roles, A few plot holes,

Plot: Matt Murdock (Ben Affleck) is a blind lawyer who lives in New York City's Hell's Kitchen and runs a firm with his best friend Franklin "Foggy" Nelson (Jon Favreau), which only defends innocent people and does not require payment.
As a child, Matt (Scott Terra) was blinded after toxic waste was spilled over his eyes while he was running away from home after discovering that his father, former boxer Jack "The Devil" Murdock (David Keith), had become an enforcer for a local mobster. The accident, however, also enhanced his other senses and gave him a sonar that allowed him to "see" through sonic vibrations. His father, blaming himself for his disability, stopped being an enforcer and went back to boxing. However, his new career was short-lived and he was murdered after refusing to turn in a fixed fight by the same mobster that had employed him earlier. In order to avenge his father's death, Matt learned martial arts and used his abilities to become a crime-fighter known as "Daredevil", who operates in Hell's Kitchen, going after the criminals that escape the conventional means of justice.
One day, Matt meets and falls in love with Elektra Natchios (Jennifer Garner), daughter of Nikolas Natchios (Erick Avari), a businessman that has dealings with Wilson Fisk (Michael Clarke Duncan), a rich executive who is also the Kingpin of New York City's Underworld. When Nikolas tries to bail on his dealings with Fisk, Fisk hires the Irish hitman Bullseye (Colin Farrell), who never misses a shot, to kill him. Watch the movie to see what happens next.

Plot: 7.4/10- Daredevil's plot was good but had a few plot holes.

Action: 7.0/10- Daredevil's action scenes were like The Matrix but looked fake and out of place.

Acting: 6.5/10- Every scene that Ben Affleck(Daredevil) and Jennifer Garner(Elektra) were was good their acting was top notch but the scenes with Bullseye (Colin Farrell) and Wilson Fisk (Michael Clarke Duncan) were not very good.

Special effects: 6.3/10- The special effects were ok but a little dated.

Soundtrack: 2.2/10- The soundtrack of licensed music was terrible and destacted from the movie but if you like that kind of music you might like it.

Comedy: 7.7/10- Daredevil is not a comedy but there were two very funny near the beginning of the movie.

Overall: 6.3/10- Overall Daredevil is at its best when its more about Daredevil and lest about the villians.

Closing comments: Although Daredevil is a solid watchable movie, it is not the definitive Daredevil movie.

RoboCop Review.

If you have seen the movie please give it any score from 1 to 10.

Directed by: Paul Verhoeven
Genre: Sci-Fi, Action
Release date: July 17, 1987 (1987-07-17)
Running Time: 103 minutes
MMPA rating: R

The Good: Lots of sci-fi shoot'em up action, Good soundtrack,

The Bad: Bad acting by most of the minor characters, Some of the dialogue was very cheesy

Plot: In the near future, Detroit, Michigan is on the verge of collapse due to financial ruin and unchecked crime. The mega-corporation Omni Consumer Products enters into a contract with the city to run the police force. OCP plans to destroy "Old Detroit" to replace it with the utopia of "Delta City". Recognizing that human law enforcers are insufficient to stop the crime spree, OCP runs several programs to find robotic replacements. One program, the ED-209 enforcement droid, headed by senior president Dick Jones (Ronny Cox), malfunctions and kills an executive during its demonstration. As a result, the OCP Chairman (Dan O'Herlihy) opts for a cyborg program helmed by junior executive Bob Morton (Miguel Ferrer), named "RoboCop". Jones is furious at Morton for going over his head.
The RoboCop program requires a recently-deceased "candidate" for conversion; to obtain one, OCP reorganizes the police force to the crime-ridden Metro West precinct expecting an officer will die in duty and become a candidate. One such officer is veteran Alexander James Murphy (Peter Weller), who is partnered with Anne Lewis (Nancy Allen). On their first patrol, they chase down a team of criminals led by crime boss Clarence Boddicker (Kurtwood Smith) to an abandoned steel mill. Murphy and Lewis separate. Lewis is later rendered unconscious by one of the gang, while the rest of Boddicker's men corner Murphy and sadistically mutilate him with shotguns before Boddicker executes him with a pistol shot to the head. Lewis, disarmed and unable to help, witnesses the murder in horror. Murphy is pronounced dead at the hospital, but OCP takes his body and uses it to create the first RoboCop.
RoboCop is guided by three prime directives written into his programming: serve the public trust, protect the innocent and uphold the law. This is followed by a classified fourth directive that he is unaware of. He is able to single-handedly deal with much of the violent crime in the city, causing the rest of the police force to become worried they may be replaced. Unknown by his human monitors, RoboCop still retains memories of his life as Murphy, including brief glimpses of his wife and son, and the action of spinning his gun before holstering it, a trick Murphy had done for his son. Lewis recognizes these elements from Murphy's mannerisms, and tries to learn more from RoboCop, but he remains silent on the issues. Because of Robocop's success, Morton is promoted to become one of OCP's Vice Presidents. Watch the movie to see what happens next.

Plot: 7.4/10- The plot is original but some stupid and cheesy plot decisions keep it from greatness.

Action: 9.4/10- RoboCop is a shoot'em up with some of the best sci-fi shooting action and one really awesome kill at the end.

Acting: 5.7/10- Peter Weller(RoboCop) and Nancy Allen(Anne Lewis) were the only stand out good performances but most of the minor characters were really bad actors and had cheesy dialogue.

Special effects: 7.6/10- For 1987 the effect were good but today they are a little dated but still work.

Soundtrack: 8.2/10- The soundtrack fit the feel of the movie perfectly.

Comedy: 8.3/10- RoboCop had some "it was so cheesy it was funny moments" but it have some funny fake commercials.

Overall: 7.8/10- Overall RoboCop is a very good action movie that had to munch cheesy dialogue that kept it from being great.

Closing comments: If you like action movies you should check this RoboCop out.

You might have already read this post on A Cynical Geek at A Cynical Geek if not go check out his channel now.

Note: We watched the movie on a cable channel so it censored out profanity and anything other extreme content except violence the movie had and it was rated "R".

X-Men Origins: Wolverine Review.

If you have seen the movie please give it any score from 1 to 10.

Directed by: Gavin Hood
Genre: Action, Comic Book
Release Date: May 1, 2009 (2009-05-01)
Running Time: 107 minutes
MMPA rating: PG-13

The Good: All of the action scenes were great except Sabretooth's parts, The first scene with Deadpool was awesome, Opening montage of Wolverine and Sabretooth's early life was great, Hugh Jackman was again awesome as Wolverine,

The Bad: Disappointing compared to the other X-Men movies, Complete and totally screw up Deadpool after his first scene,

Plot: In 1845 Canada, young James Howlett sees his father killed by groundskeeper Thomas Logan. The trauma activates the boy's mutation: bone claws protrude from James' hands, and he kills Thomas, who reveals with his dying breath to be James' real father. James flees into the forest along with Thomas's son Victor Creed, who is thus James' brother. They spend the next century as soldiers, fighting in the American Civil War, both World Wars and the Vietnam War. In Vietnam, Victor (Liev Schrieber) attempts to rape a local village woman, but is stopped after killing a senior officer. James (Hugh Jackman) defends his brother, and the two are sentenced to execution by firing squad, which they survive. Major William Stryker (Danny Huston) approaches them, now in military custody, and offers them membership in Team X, a group of mutants including marksman Agent Zero (Daniel Henney), swordsman Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds), teleporter John Wraith (Will.i.am), invulnerable Fred Dukes (Kevin Durand) and electropathic Chris Bradley (Dominic Monaghan). They join the team, but the group's questionable actions and disregard for human life cause James to leave.
Six years later, James, now going by the name Logan, lives in Canada with his girlfriend, Kayla Silverfox (Lynn Collins). Colonel Stryker locates Logan and warns him that someone is killing members of the team; both Wilson and Bradley are dead. Shortly afterward, Victor murders Kayla and attacks Logan. Stryker offers Logan a way to beat Victor; Logan undergoes an operation to reinforce his skeleton with adamantium, a virtually indestructible metal. Before the procedure, Logan asks for new dog tags inscribed with "Wolverine", based on a story that Kayla told him. Once the procedure is complete, Stryker orders Logan's memory erased, but Logan overhears and fights his way out. As Logan runs, Zero tracks him down but is killed. Watch the movie to what happens next.

Plot: 7.0/10- The plot had some thing I like but there are some decisions that were made that really screwed up the movie like (Warning spoiler) Adamantium memory erasing bullets.

Action: 9.0/10- It had a lot of good action except Sabretooth's parts which looked odd the he fights in some scenes.

Acting: 7.4/10-  Hugh Jackman as Wolverine was perfect and so was Taylor Kitsch as Remy "Gambit" LeBeau but some of the minor characters were not great.

Special effects: 7.7/10- Overall the effects were good but there was one scene right after Wolverine gets his claws that looks really fake.

Soundtrack: 7.7/10- The soundtrack was good.

Comedy: N/A

Overall: 7.6/10- Overall X-Men Origins: Wolverine was disappointing compared to the other X-Men movies but it is not terrible.

Closing comments: X-Men Origins: Wolverine made some dumb decisions in the plot that made us really angry because we are fans and it screwed up some very good characters that should have been better but it was a good action packed movie.

Batman (1989) Review.

If you have seen the movie please give it any score from 1 to 10.

Disclaimer: We do not dislike Batman movies but we do hate Tim Burton movies and this Batman movie does not have the feel of a Batman movie it feels like a Tim Burton movie and if you like Tim Burton movies you will like this movie.

Directed by: Tim Burton
Genre: Action Adventure, Comic Book, Tim Burton,
Release Date: June 23, 1989 (1989-06-23)
Running Time: 126 minutes
MMPA rating: PG-13

The Good: It started out OK but quickly diminishes, Good soundtrack,

The Bad: It is a Tim Burton movie and it feels like one, Every thing looked really weird, Michael Keaton was not a very good Batman, The plot was kind of pointless,

Plot: As a child, billionaire Bruce Wayne (Michael Keaton) saw his parents murdered by a mugger. He vows to avenge their deaths in a lifelong battle against crime as the costumed vigilante Batman while concealing his secret identity behind his playboy image. By the time he begins his career as Gotham City's protector, the city is controlled by crime boss Carl Grissom (Jack Palance). Despite the best efforts of newly-elected district attorney Harvey Dent (Billy Dee Williams) and police commissioner James Gordon (Pat Hingle), the police department remains corrupt. Reporter Alexander Knox (Robert Wuhl) and photo-journalist Vicki Vale (Kim Basinger) begin investigating the rumors of a shadowy crimefighter dressed as a bat terrorizing Gotham's criminals by night.
Vicki and Knox attend a benefit at Wayne Manor, where Bruce is taken by Vicki's charms. That same night, Grissom's second in command, Jack Napier (Jack Nicholson), is sent to raid the Axis Chemicals factory. After the police receive a tip-off and arrive to arrest him, Napier realizes he has been set up by his boss, angered by his affair with Grissom's mistress. In the midst of the shoot-out, Batman arrives and takes out Napier's henchmen. Napier fires at Batman, who deflects the bullet off his steel gauntlet and sends it ricocheting back into Napier's face. Reeling from the pain, Napier topples over a platform rail but manages to grab a lower rail with one hand. Batman tries to pull Napier to safety, but loses his grip, and the criminal falls into a large vat of chemicals. Shortly thereafter, he emerges from an adjacent reservoir, his skin bleached white, his hair dyed green and his lips dyed red. Following a botched attempt at plastic surgery, Napier is left with a permanent rictus grin, similar to the jester on a joker card. Driven insane by his reflection, he fashions himself as "the Joker", kills Grissom and takes over his empire.
The Joker holds the city at his mercy by chemically altering everyday hygiene products, causing those using a certain combination of products to laugh to death — leaving them with a post-mortem grin resembling his own. Watch the movie to what happens next but we don't recommend it.

Plot: 4.3/10- It starts out with a OK plot but quickly declines in to pointlessness and not to mention the weird Tim Burton feel of the movie.

Action: 5.8/10- There was some action but nothing special.

Acting: 6.1/10- Jack Nicholson as Joker had the only good but not great performance and Michael Keaton(Batman) and  Kim Basinger (Vicki Vale) were not very good.

Special effects: N/A

Soundtrack: 7.7/10- The soundtrack was good.

Comedy: N/A

Overall: 6.0/10 Over Batman is an important in that it starts comic book movies as a viable genre that can be successful in the box office and it was good for its' day but doesn't hold up well today.

Closing comments: As we said earlier we can't stand Tim Burton movies but if you like his movies you should like this.

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides Review.

Here is the review of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides  requested by JediKnightGrl at A Dreamer's Galaxy

If you have seen the movie please give it any score from 1 to 10.

We watch Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides on Blu-Ray yesterday.

Thought: We watched the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie and it is one of favorite movies and but the second and third weren't as good becasue Johnny Depp wasn't near as funny as he was in the first movie. He seemed unnatural in the other movie but they were good but not great like the first. We were sceptical thinking it was going the make the mistake that Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull made and completly fail on the forith film but On Stranger Tides Johnny Depp is back and lot funnier than he was in the second and third movies. It is also more focused on Jack than the other movies.

Directed by: Rob Marshall
Genre: Action Adventure Comedy
Release Date: May 20, 2011 (2011-05-20)
Running Time: 136 minutes
MMPA rating: PG-13

The Good: Lots of well timed humor, Johnny Depp is back and funny again, Penélope Cruz and Geoffrey Rush were great, Lots of well executed swashbuckling action, Almost as good as the first, Great special effects, Awesome Hans Zimmer soundtrack, Many hilarious moments,

The Bad:

Plot: The movie contains to many spoilers in the beginning of the movie to have a plot summary.

Plot: 7.9/10- The plot was well paced and work really well to deliver the action and the comedy.

Action: 7.8/10- Pirates of the Caribbean action was well executed and had a lot of sword fighting swashbuckling action

Acting: 8.0/10- Johnny Depp is alot funnier again and Penélope Cruz and Geoffrey Rush were also great, The other characters were good also.

Special effects: 8.07/10- Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides is not as effects driven as the other movies but what was there looked very realistic.

Soundtrack: 9.9/10- Hans Zimmmer does it again with easily his best soundtrack.

Comedy: 9.8/10- Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides is filled with physical humor and many other forms of humor, The banter between Jack and Angelica was hilarious,

Overall: 7.9/.10 Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides is a very fun and entertaining movie and is almost as good as the first but definitely better the second and the third movies.

Closing comments: If you didn't like the other Pirates of the Caribbean movies this is not going to change your mind but if you liked the others you will love this one.

Megamind Review.

If you have seen the movie please give it any score from 1 to 10.

The overall score for a animated movie is relative to other animated movies. Example: If an animated movie gets a overall score of an 8.4/10 and an live action movie gets a score of 7.8/10 it doesn't mean the animated movie is better when comparing them. If you have any questions about this please post a comment.

Disclaimer: In general do not like many animated movie because we don't like "cute" like Pixar's movies and most animated movies in general other than the direct to DVD/Blu-Ray PG-13 Marvel and DC comics movies ,which almost as good as some of the live action movies, and Star Wars: The Clone Wars. But we do like a lot of animated TV shows (not stupid shows like the Simpsons).

Megamind is not based on a comic book but it is a parody on comic book movies.

Directed by: Tom McGrath
Genre: Animated, Comedy
Release date: November 5, 2010 (2010-11-05)
Running Time: 98 minutes
MMPA rating: PG

The Good: The funniest animated movie I have ever seen, All-Star cast of actors, Surprisingly clever plot, Excellent use of icensedl 80s music and Hans Zimmer music, Many hilarious jokes about comic book and other subjects,

The Bad:

We did not post the movie's trailer because it has major spoilers in the trailer!

Plot: Megamind (Will Ferrell) is a super-intelligent alien, a (self-proclaimed) incredibly handsome genius and master of all villainy, and (also self-proclaimed but with more to back it up) villain of the fictional Metro City. Megamind has constantly battled and lost to his nemesis Metro Man (Brad Pitt) ever since they both arrived on Earth as infants. On the day that Metro City dedicates a museum to their protector, Megamind and his only friend and sidekick Minion (David Cross) kidnap reporter Roxanne Ritchi (Tina Fey) and lure Metro Man into a copper-lined room. To everyone's surprise, Metro Man is unable to escape and appears to be killed when Megamind's death ray strikes him. Megamind revels in his victory against Metro Man, but shortly after becomes depressed, his villainy having no meaning without anyone to stop him.
While attempting to destroy the museum (which he successfully does), Megamind disguises himself as its curator Bernard (Ben Stiller) (after he dehydrates Bernard into a small cube) to avoid being found by Roxanne and ends up talking with her. Megamind is inspired by a comment from Roxanne to create a superhero by injecting a worthy target with a serum fashioned from Metro Man's DNA, granting them Metro Man's super-abilities. As Megamind is selecting his target, Roxanne sneaks into his lair; in the resulting chaos, Megamind accidentally fires the serum into Hal, Roxanne's cameraman (Jonah Hill). Taking advantage of the gullible Hal, Megamind appears to the transformed human as his "space dad", grooming Hal into a new superhero named Tighten and preparing him to fight Megamind. Meanwhile, Megamind has become attracted to Roxanne, and continues to date her using his Bernard disguise. Watch the movie to what happens next.

Plot: 8.4/10- Remember we are comparing it to other animated movies. The plot was a hilarious parody similar Superman's story but from a "what if the villain won prospective" and it worked great.

Action: 7.6/10- Megamind is a comedy but it did have some action.

Acting: 8.4/10- Megamind had an All-Star comedy cast that gave hilarious performances for a animated movie.

Art Style: 8.5/10- It looked looked like most of the other Dreamworks movies.

Soundtrack: 9.5/10- Megamind had a awesome soundtrack of licensed music including   "A Little Less Conversation" by Elvis, "Crazy Train" by Ozzy Osbourne, "Bad To The Bone" George Thorogood And The Destroyers, an awesome Han Zimmer soundtrack and many others

Comedy: 8.8/10- Megamind is the funniest animated comedy we have ever seen with hilarious parodies on many subjects.

Overall: 8.0/10- Overall Megamind is the best animated comedy to dated.

Closing comments: Megamind is good for a animated and that is highly recommend if you like animated movies.

Men in Black Review.

If you have seen the movie please give it any score from 1 to 10.

This is the review for Men in Black. Because Men in Black is a comedy we are going to score it a little differently in the "Comedy" section of the review it is score on how funny the movie is compared to other comedies but in a review for an action movie the "Comedy" section is the amount of comedy in the movie. Here is an example if an action movie get a score of 9.0 in the "Comedy" section and a comedy movie gets an 8.0 it doesn't mean that the action movie is funnier it just means that the action is has some really funny parts in the for an action movie. The overall score for a comedy is relative to other coemdies. Example: A comedy gets a overall score of an 8.4/10 and an non-comedy gets a score of 7.8/10 it doesn't mean the comedy is better when comparing them. If you have any questions about this please post a comment.

A lot of people don't know this but Men in Black is based on a Comic Book.

Directed by: Barry Sonnenfeld
Genre: Comedy, Action Comedy, Comic Book, Sic-Fi
Release date: July 2, 1997 (1997-07-02)
Running Time: 98 minutes
MMPA rating: PG-13

The Good: Very funny humor though out the movie, Good amount of comedy and action, Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith gave good comical performances,

The Bad: Vincent D'Onofrio's(villain in the movie named Edgar) performance was very odd and hard to watch,

Plot: Agent K (Tommy Lee Jones) is a member of the Men in Black (MiB), a secret agency without ties to any government to maintain Earth as a "neutral zone" for extraterrestrial aliens seeking refuge, disguises these aliens as humans around New York City. The agency maintains its secrecy by using a "neuralyzer" to wipe the memories of those that encounter them or the aliens, including the memories of former agents when they retire. Operating from a large underground base at a Triborough Bridge and Tunnel Authority ventilation station, they fund themselves by obtaining patents on alien technologies released for consumer consumption.
K's former partner, D, has just retired, but K identifies New York City detective James Edwards (Will Smith) as a potential replacement, due to his agility to follow a disguised alien. After putting Edwards through several tests, K offers him the chance to join the MIB, which Edwards accepts. Edwards' past identity is erased, and he becomes Agent J, assigned to K by the agency director, Zed (Rip Torn). K helps to orient J to the workings of the MIB; during this, they learn that numerous aliens refugees are trying to find a way off of Earth. MIB is contacted by an Arquillian fleet near Earth's orbit, the fleet warns that a "Bug," a member of a giant cockroach-like alien species they are currently at war with, has crashed down to Earth and is seeking an object known as the Galaxy that would turn the tide in favor of the Bugs. To prevent this, they are willing to destroy the Earth unless the MIB can secure the Galaxy before their deadline within a day.
K and J find the Bug has taken the human skin of a farmer, Edgar (Vincent D'Onofrio), as its disguise, and killed two Arquillians it believed to have possession of the Galaxy. The two bodies, along with a pet cat that refuses to leave its owner, are taken to a city morgue, where Dr. Laurel Weaver (Linda Fiorentino) discovers one of the Arquillians is barely alive; struggling with English, it mutters that "The Galaxy is on Orion's belt" to her before it expires. K and J arrive to help remove the alien bodies and wipe Dr. Weaver's mind.

Plot: 7.0/10- For a comedy the plot wasn't bad but it wasn't great ethier.

Action: 8.0/10- Men in Black is an action comedy so it did have some action which was very comical.

Acting: 7.4/10- Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith gave good comical performances but Vincent D'Onofrio's(villain in the movie named Edgar) performance was very odd and hard to watch.

Special effects: 7.9/10- The special effects were groundbreaking for their day but look a little dated now.

Soundtrack: 7.1/10- The is not Dan Elfman's best but it woked for the movie.

Comedy: 8.3/10- Men in Black is a comedy and it had plenty of physical and verbal humor.

Overall: 7.8/10- Overall Men in Black is not without its flaws but it is still an enjoyable movie.

Closing comments: Men in Black very good action comedy that is sure to satisfy sic-fi and comedy fan alike.

300 (Spartans) Review.

300 is based on a comic book, which is loosely based on historical 300 Spartans fighting the over 3000 Persians.

Thoughts: What we expected was an over the top bloody and some what realistic Spartan movie(we know a lot of history about it) and what we got was a weird fantasy movie with the King of Persia that looks like this

And none of the Spartans are wearing armor look

Spartan in the movie had 6-pack and not armor.

Realistic Spartan.

Directed by: Zack Snyder
Genre: Action, Fantasy, Comic Book
Release Date: March 9, 2007
Running Time: 117 minutes
MMPA rating: R

The Good: The first two fight scenes were good, Two really awesome quotes: "THIS. IS. SPARTA!" and "Then we will fight in the shade!",

Disclaimer: We do not like it when a movie was a lot of weird stuff in them, if you like that kind of stuff you might like the movie.

The Bad: After the first fight scene it has a lot of crazy and weird looking enemies, Everything looked really really weird but if you like that kind of stuff you might like the movie, Simple plot, Cheesy dialogue,

Note: The entire movie was filmed on a green screen and it looks like a comic book.

Plot: Dilios, a Spartan soldier, narrates the story of Leonidas, from boyhood to the throne of Sparta. Years later, a Persian messenger arrives at the gates of Sparta demanding the submission of Sparta to King Xerxes. In response to this demand, Leonidas and his guards kick the messenger into a large well. Knowing this will prompt a Persian attack, Leonidas visits the Ephors, ancient leprosy-ridden priests whose blessing he needs before the Spartan council will authorize going to war. He proposes they repel the numerically superior Persians by using the terrain of Thermopylae (the Hot Gates) and funnel the Persians into a narrow pass between the rocks and the sea. The Ephors consult the Oracle, who decrees that Sparta must not go to war during their religious festival Carnea. As Leonidas departs, two agents of Xerxes appear (one of them – Theron – a Spartan).
Leonidas follows his plan anyway, setting out with only 300 soldiers, whom he calls his personal guards to avoid needing the council's permission. Though he regards the mission as certain suicide, he hopes the sacrifice will spur the council to unite against Persia. On the way to Thermopylae, Arcadians join the Spartans. At Thermopylae they construct a wall to contain the approaching Persian advance. As construction goes on, Leonidas meets Ephialtes, a hunchbacked Spartan(he looks really weird) in exile whose parents fled Sparta to spare him certain infanticide. Wanting to redeem his father's name, Ephialtes asks to join the fight; he warns Leonidas of a secret path the Persians could use to outflank and surround them. Though Leonidas sympathizes with Ephialtes' will to fight, he turns him down, as Ephialtes cannot properly hold a shield: this would compromise the Spartans phalanx formation. Watch the movie to see what happens next.

Plot: 5.1/10- The plot is very loosely based on historical 300 Spartans fighting the over 3000 Persians but it was changed and we don't like that because it didn't need to change. The original story of the 300 Spartans would have made a great movie. The plot is very simple and nothing special.

Action: 9.2/10- It had a lot of action and the first two fight scenes were great.

Acting: 6.0/10-  Lena Headey was the best actor in the movie and the rest of the acting wasn't terrible but it was really of over the top.

Special effects: 7.6/10- The entire movie was filmed on a green screen and it looked like a the graphic novel that it was based on.

Soundtrack: 8.4/10- The soundtrack was epic and actually better than the movie its self.

Comedy: N/A- There were some "it was so cheesy it's funny dialogue".

Overall: 6.4/10- Overall 300 changed the historical story of the movie and added a odd fantasy look to the movie but it did have a lot of good action.

Closing comments: I guess we are still going to have wait for a good realistic movie about the 300 Spartans.

Note: We watched the movie on a cable channel so it was censored out and anything extreme content except violence the movie had and it was rated "R".

The Good: Best Spider-Man movie, One of the best comic book movies ever, The Doc Ock vs. Spider-Man fight scene on the train is one of the best in history, One of the best movies of all time, Spectacular acting, Doc Ock is very well developed and one of the greatest villains of all time, Amazing special effects, Similar spectacular soundtrack that captures the feel of swinging though New York city perfectly, The “Rain drops are falling on my head” scene was done perfectly, Even better plot than the first,

The Bad:

Plot: Peter Parker struggles to balance his crime-fighting duties as Spider-Man with the demands of his normal life. He loses a job, faces financial difficulties, and struggles to maintain his physics studies at Columbia University. Parker is estranged from both love interest Mary Jane Watson—now a successful Broadway actress—and best friend Harry Osborn, who accuses Spider-Man of murdering his father Norman Osborn, who was secretly the super villain Green Goblin. Parker's Aunt May is threatened with foreclosure, and Daily Bugle editor J. Jonah Jameson continues to denounce Spider-Man as a menace to New York City. As a result, Peter starts to think about giving up being Spider-Man, causing his powers to slowly stop working.
Harry, now head of Oscorp's research division, sponsors the research of brilliant nuclear scientist Otto Octavius, Peter's idol. Octavius, who dreams of perfecting fusion power, wears a harness of powerful robotic arms with artificial intelligence for an experiment in sustained fusion. Though the experiment becomes unstable, the arrogant Octavius refuses to halt it, with disastrous results: his wife is killed, the neural inhibitor chip which prevents the arms from influencing Octavius's own mind is destroyed, and the arms are fused to his spine. Unconscious, he is taken to a hospital to have the appendages removed, but the tentacles develop their own ability to move at will and brutally kill the surgeons, and Octavius escapes. The tentacles corrupt Octavius' mind, exploiting his vanity and ego, and lead him to the resolution that he must complete his experiment regardless of the moral cost. To finance his work, Octavius—whom Jameson nicknames "Doctor Octopus" or "Doc Ock"—robs a bank, where he takes Aunt May hostage after she and Peter were trying to refinance her house. Spider-Man battles with Octavius, but struggles in the fight when his powers almost fail him. He manages to save Aunt May, but Octavius escapes with the stolen money.
During a party, Peter learns that Mary Jane is engaged to Jameson's son, renowned astronaut John Jameson, and gets into a fight with a drunken Harry over his loyalty to Spider-Man. As Octavius rebuilds his experimental reactor, Peter's powers remain unreliable. Watch the movie to what happens next.

Plot: 9.8/10- Spider-Man 2’s plot had excellent character development and was very well written.

Action: 9.8/10- The fight scene on the train between Doc Ock and Spider-Man perfectly choreographed with awesome special effects and the other fight scenes were also great.

Acting: 9.9/10- The entire cast had very convincing performances.

Special effects: 9.6/10- The special effects were amazing with Spider-Man’s

Soundtrack: 10/10- The soundtrack is one of the best of all time and every time I hear it I feel like I am swing though the city like Spider-Man there are very few soundtracks that captures the feel of a movie like that. Listen to it below.

Comedy: 8.3/10- Spider-Man 2 is not a comedy but it did have a very humorous scene in the elevator.

Overall: 9.7/10- Overall Spider-Man 2 is an amazing movie that greatly improves over the first movie in every way.

Closing comments: Spider-Man 2 is a movie than everyone should see.

Which Lord of the Rings movies is the best and The Hobbit Behind the Scenes!

We are taking a break from comic book review today so we decided make post about "Which Lord of the Rings is Best"

Some of you might be confused thinking that we like some comic book movies more than The Lord of the Rings movies. That is not true the only movies we like more than Lord of the Rings is Star Wars. We want to know what is you favorite Lord of the Rings movie our favorite is The Return of the King but we can't decide which is better between The Two Towers or The Fellowship of the Ring which is your favorite of those two?

Now about the Hobbit. We are super excited about the Hobbit and we can't wait to see how Gollum is going to look with the new advancements in CGI technology. We predict that it will be the best movie of 2012 hands down but we hope it makes a lot more money than The Dark Knight Rises and is not over shaddowed by it because there are a lot of hype about it(we know we said we would not talk bad about The Dark Knight any more but come on its The Hobbit). If you have read the book(we have not read it) please post a comment if you think the Hobbit has source material to be better than the Lord of the Rings movies? Does it have the grand scale compared to The Hobbit? And does it have the epic battles that the Lord of the Rings had?

Can't get enough of The Hobbit here are some of the behind the scenes video blog form The Hobbit.

I posted this video before the but other one are new.

The Good: Amazing acrobatic fight scenes, The Green Goblin is a great villain that is very well developed, Excellent acting, Spectacular soundtrack that captures the feel of swinging though New York city perfectly, Perfect casting of the characters, One of the best soundtracks of all time,

The Bad:

Plot: The story describes the transformation of high-school senior Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) into a spiderlike superhero and the beginning of his career as a crime fighter. Peter lives in Forest Hills, a quiet neighborhood in the New York City borough of Queens, with his Uncle Ben (Cliff Robertson) and Aunt May (Rosemary Harris). He secretly loves Mary Jane Watson (Kirsten Dunst), a warm-hearted girl next door, but he is too shy to approach her. His friend Harry Osborn (James Franco) is the son of Dr. Norman Osborn (Willem Dafoe), president of the Oscorp manufacturing corporation, which is working to win a contract to supply weapons to the United States Army.
On a field trip to a genetics laboratory, Peter is bitten by a genetically engineered spider. He passes out in his bedroom at home, and the next day his vision is perfect, he has become more muscular, his wrists emit web strings, and his reflexes are super-quick. At school, he saves Mary Jane from a split-second fall and easily defeats her bullying boyfriend in a fistfight. Realizing that the spider's bite has given him spiderlike powers, he trains himself to scale walls, jump between rooftops, and swing through the city (which he fails on his try).
Peter enters a wrestling tournament, hoping to win $3,000 so he can buy a sports car to impress Mary Jane. On the day of the tournament, Ben tries to give him some fatherly advice, but Peter lashes out at him. At the tournament, the announcer presents Peter as "The Amazing Spider-Man". Peter defeats his opponent, Bonesaw McGraw (Macho Man Randy Savage), but the man in charge only gives Peter $100 for winning the match early. When a thief robs the man, Peter takes his revenge by allowing the robber to escape, but he discovers later that the thief killed Uncle Ben during his getaway. Feeling responsible for Ben's death, and feeling guilty for rejecting his advice, Peter dedicates himself to fighting crime as Spider-Man. He makes money by selling pictures of himself as Spider-Man to Daily Bugle newspaper editor J. Jonah Jameson (J.K. Simmons).
Meanwhile, under pressure from the military, Norman tests Oscorp's dangerous new performance-enhancing chemical on himself. The chemical manages to make him stronger, but he quickly develops a maniacal alter ego. He immediately murders his assistant, then kills several of his competitor's scientists from the air, wearing an artificial exoskeleton and standing on a small flying platform called a "glider". After Oscorp's directors fire him, he flies to an Oscorp-sponsored fair and kills them before Spider-Man drives him away.

Plot: 9.7/10- The plot stays close enough to the comic yet adds even more to make it great.

Action: 9.5/10- The Spider-Man vs. Green Goblin fight scene at the end was amazing and the other scenes of Spider-Man taking out thugs was also great.

Acting: 9.6/10- Superb performances by the whole cast.

Special effects: 8.8/10- The effects looked spectacular for 2002 but they are a little dated but hold up well today.

Soundtrack: 10/10- The soundtrack is one of the best of all time and every time I hear it I feel like I am swing though the city like Spider-Man there are very few soundtracks that captures the feel of a movie like that. Listion to it below.

Comedy: 8.1/10- Spider-Man is not a comedy but the part when he first gets his powers is very humorous.

Overall: 9.5/10- Spider-Man does almost every thing right and is a must see movie.

Closing comments: Spider-Man is not only one of the best comic book movies of all time it is one of the top 50 best movies of all time.

The Good: Amazing CGI(Computer-generated imagery) characters looked like they were real and the facial expressions were very well done, Pandora(name of the planet) looked incredible,

The Bad: Way too munch tree hugger save the planet junk, Not original, Stole plot from "Dance With Wolves" and many other Native America movies, Predictable,

Plot: In 2148, the Earth's natural resources have been severely depleted(which is a bunch of bull). A starship named the Venture Star leaves Earth bound for a journey into deep space, with a crew of cryogenic men on board. 6 years later, in 2154, the RDA Corporation is mining a valuable mineral called unobtanium on Pandora, a lush, Earth-like habitable moon orbiting the gas giant Polyphemus located in the Alpha Centauri star system. Pandora, whose atmosphere is poisonous to humans, is inhabited by the Na'vi, 10-foot (3.0 m)-tall, blue-skinned, sapient humanoids who live in harmony with nature and worship a mother goddess called Eywa.
To learn about the Na'vi and Pandora's biosphere, scientists use Na'vi-human hybrid bodies called avatars that are operated via mental link by genetically matched humans. Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), a paraplegic former marine, replaces his twin brother, a scientist trained as an avatar operator who was murdered in a robbery. Dr. Grace Augustine (Sigourney Weaver), head of the Avatar Program, considers Sully an inadequate replacement and assigns him as a bodyguard. While protecting the avatars of Grace and scientist Norm Spellman (Joel David Moore) on their expedition to collect biological samples and data in the forest, Jake's avatar is attacked by a jungle predator thanator. Fleeing for his life, Jake strays from the rest of the group and gets lost in the forest. Neytiri (Zoe Saldana), a female Na'vi, stumbles upon Jake and reluctantly rescues him from Pandora's wildlife. Seeing portents from Eywa, she takes him to her clan's dwelling, Hometree; there, Jake meets Neytiri's father, clan chief Eytukan (Wes Studi). Neytiri's mother Mo'at (C. C. H. Pounder), the clan's spiritual leader, orders her daughter to teach the "warrior dreamwalker" their ways.
The head of Sec-Ops, the RDA's private security force, Colonel Miles Quaritch (Stephen Lang), promises Jake that the company will help him walk again if he gathers intelligence about the Na'vi.[ Hometree is on top of the richest deposits of unobtanium for hundreds of miles. When Grace learns that Jake is passing information to Quaritch, she relocates herself, Jake, and Norm to a remote outpost. Over three months, Jake grows close to Neytiri and her people. Watch the movie to what happens next.

Plot: 6.4/10- The plot is not original. It stole parts from movies like "Dances With Wolves" and other good movies, but made it much worse.

Action: 7.8/10- There one large fight scene at the end of the movie that was good.

Acting: 8.1/10- Stephen Lang had the best performance as the tough guy commander and, Worthington and Zoe Saldana's performances as the Na'vi(aliens) looked just like real people acting.

Special effects: 10/10- Special effects is were Avatar is at its best with visually stunning CGI characters and everything. It looked amazing.

Soundtrack: 7.0/10- The soundtrack worked for the movie but not great.

Comedy: N/A

Closing comments: Avatar is an amazing looking movie that is worth watching just to see the special effects.

Plot: I can't tell you the plot of the movie because there major spoilers in the first 30 minutes of   Transformers: Dark of the Moon that will spoil the movie.

Plot: 7.0/10- Unlike the other Transformers movies Transformers: Dark of the Moon actually has a plot that works but it had a few plot wholes that were never filled.

Soundtrack: 8.6/10- Although the soundtrack does not sound the most original but it is very good.

The Lord of the Rings Award.

Thanks  Rebecca at Just me... for giving us this Lord of the Rings award!
I have to answer the following questions.

1) Who is your favorite LOTR character and why? It is a tie between Gandalf and Sam. Why? Because Gandalf did this

And many other epic scenes! About Sam: Because Sam literally carried Frodo and The Ring to Mount Doom.

2) If you were in Middle Earth, what species would you be? In Lord of the Rings Online I am a Elf named Starslayer.

3) If you were in Middle Earth where would you be from? Mirkwood

I have to pass these awards to 5 LOTR fans that follow our blog followers. Most of our followers have received the award from Rebecca. If your name is not here Rebecca has most likely already given you the award.

The Good:

The Bad: With the exception of Donald Sutherland the acting was mediocre, Not enough action to be a action movie but the acting and plot wasn't good enough for it to be anything else, Simple plot,

Plot: In the year 120 AD, twenty years after the Ninth Legion disappeared in the north of Britain, Marcus Flavius Aquila, a young Roman centurion, arrives in Britain to serve at his first post as a garrison commander. Aquila's father disappeared with the eagle standard of the ill-fated legion, and Aquila hopes to redeem his family's honor by bravely serving in Britain. Shortly afterwards, only Aquila's alertness and decisiveness saves the garrison from being overrun by Celtic tribesmen. He is decorated for his bravery but honorably discharged due to a severe leg injury.
Living at his uncle's estate near Calleva (modern Silchester) in southern Britain, Aquila has to cope with his military career having been cut short and his father's name still being held in disrepute. Heeding rumors that the eagle standard has been seen in the north of Britain, Aquila decides to recover it. Despite the warnings of his uncle and his fellow Romans, who believe that no Roman can survive north of Hadrian's Wall, Aquila travels north into the territory of the Picts, accompanied only by his British slave Esca. Esca, the son of a Brigantes chieftain, detests Rome and what it stands for, but also considers himself bound to his master, who saved his life during an amphitheater show.
After several weeks of traveling through the northern wilderness, Esca and Aquila encounter Guern, one of the survivors of the Ninth Legion, who attributes his survival to the hospitality of the Selgovae tribe. Guern recalls that all but a small number of deserters were killed in an ambush by the northern tribes — including Esca's Brigantes — and that the eagle standard was taken away by the Seal People, the most vicious of the tribes. The two travel further north until they are found by the Seal People. Identifying himself as a chieftain's son fleeing Roman rule and claiming Aquila as his slave, Esca is welcomed by the tribe. After allowing the Seal People to mistreat Aquila, Esca eventually reveals that his actions were a ploy and helps his master to find the eagle. As they retrieve it, they are ambushed by several warriors, including the Seal Prince's father, but Marcus and Esca manage to kill them and escape with the eagle standard. With the aid of the Seal Prince's young son, Esca and Marcus manage to escape the Seal People's village. Watch the movie to see what a happens next.

Plot: 5.1/10- The plot has simple and did not a have anything new or fresh.

Action: 5.9/10- The Eagle fight scenes should have been choreographed better, Nothing we haven't before

Acting: 5.4/10- The Eagle acting overall was mediocre at best.

Special effects: N/A

Soundtrack: 5.4/10-  A few of the movie's score was OK but a lot of it was very annoying and was detracting.

Comedy: N/A

Overall: 6.0/10- Overall The Eagle was passable but if you are looking for a action war this is not it.

Closing comments: The Eagle is an uninspired movie that doesn't have munch in it.

Recommended for: Fans of movies set that time period.
